Feelings

This story dedicated to my friend Abigail Proctor who came up with story idea. 

You and Jack Kelly are best friends and had done everything together sense you became a Newsie 4 years ago. But you had caught feelings and you didn't know how to tell him. You didn't want to ruin your frienship so you decided to just keep it to yourself. 

"Hey y/n how is your pape sellin goin?" Asks Jack

"Pretty good Jackie, I just sold my last pape and was gonna head back on over to the lodge house to play poker with the fellas." 

"Oh okay well I gotta go paint at Medda's so sees yous tonight." "Bye y/n." Jack says walking off.

"Bye Jack." You head back to the lodge house and see all the boys setting up the poker game. 

"Hey y/n you ready to be destroyed?" Says Albert

"Albert I beat you last time remember?" 

"Still, I got a good feelin about this game." 

You all play poker when in fact you won again. That ened with Albert tackling you with tickles and you couldn't stop laughing. 

"Albert haha please...haha STOP I CAN"T BREATHE." You sya in between laughter. 

"That is what yous get for beatin me." 

"Alright fella's stop before she has a stroke." Jack says walkin in, you look at him and hide your blush. He looks angry at you but you don't know why. 

"Y/n we need to talk like right now." You hear all the boys make ooo and ahhh at you knowing you are in trouble. You follow Jack to the rooftop.

"What's up Jackie?" "Everything good?" 

"No everything is not good I jutst had a run in with the Delancy broders and they said that you kissed em." "Why would you kiss one of the Delancy broders and also which one?" 

You look at Jack with a shocked face. 

"Jack it doesn't matter can we not talk about this please?" 

"No y/n we are talkin about it because you decided to keep this from me even though I am your best friend." "I tell you everything and yet you don't seem to mention that you kissed one of the Delancy broders." 

"Jack I didn't tell you because I knew you would react like this." "Also I didn't kiss Morris he kissed me out of nowhere." 

"So it was Morris I am gonna kill him." 

"Jack please don't it isn't a big deal okay it was just some stupid kiss I have kissed guys before." "Yeah I was upset but I talked to Crutchie about and he..." 

"YOU TOLD CRUTCHIE AND NOT ME!" 

"Jack calm down okay I needed someone to talk to who wouldn't freak out kinda like how you are doing right now." 

"Y/N THIS IS INSANE YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME NOT CRUTCHIE!" 

"JACK THIS IS WHY I TOLD CRUTCHIE AND NOT YOU!" "GOD WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE SO MUCH IT WAS A STUPID KISS IT DIDN"T MEAN ANYTHING!" 

"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU YOU IDIOT!" You look at Jack shocked at what he just said. 

"I have to go." Jack runs down the rooftop stairs leaving you alone and in shock. 

"Crutchie, crutchie oh god Race where is Crutchie?" Jack asks

"He is sittin on his bed why do you need him?" 

"I just need to talk to him." Jack walks over to Crutchie's bed and takes a seat and looks at Crutchie tears in his eyes. 

"Hey Jack what is wrong?" 

"Crutchie I meesed up big time." 

"What happened?" 

"Me and y/n got into this big fight over Morris kissin her and how she told you and not me and then when she asked why I was so upset I told her it was because I loved her." 

"What did she say when you said that?" 

"Nothin I left before she could say anythin." 

"Jack you need to go talk to her because now you have messed with her feelins and emotions." "You need to let her know everything and apologize for gettin mad." 

"I know but what if she hates me after this?" 

"She won't I promise, now go to her." 

"Thanks Crutchie." Jack gets up and walks back to the the rooftop and sees you cryin woth your head inbetween your knees. 

Jack walks over and sits next to you and pulls you into a side hug you look up at him.

"Listen y/n I shouldn't have gotten mad you like that, I was just upset ythat you told Crutchie and not me and I get it." "I over reacted and I am sorry."

"Jack i forgive you and you're right I should have told you but I just didn't want to worry you because well...I love you as well, that is you really meant it." 

Jack pulls you to sit on his lap and hugs you. 

"Of course I mean it I have loved you sense the day I meant you, your the strongest, funniest, happiest goril I have ever met." 

You giggle and pull him into a kiss. 

"I love you Jack Kelly never forget that."

"I won't, sorry again for gettin mad." 

"It is okay I am sorry I kept it a secret from you and sorry for yelling."

"It is okay, thanks for being my goril."

"Thanks for askin me to be your goril." 

You kiss him again and you both fall asleep with smiles on your face.
