Newsies One Shots

Crush

Thank you to my friend for suggesting this one shot.

"HEY RACE GET IN HERE!" You yell from your bunk which was underneaths Races. 

"What do you...need?" Says Race stopping short and blushing cause you don't have a shirt on. You are only wearing a bunch of fabric around your entire torso and upper body and pants and socks. 

"Do you know where my shirt is?" You ask trying to snap Race out of his dazed expression. 

"Oh...um..yeah you left in in the bathroom." 

"Thank you." You walk to the bathroom and put your shirt and shoes on and tie your hair up in a bun while putting your Newsies cap on and running out to Newsies square. 

"Hey boys how are y'all doing this fine morning?" You ask. 

"Just fine we have a good headline this mornin, finally the strike is over and we are actully gettin good headlines." Says Jack. 

"Great!" You say as Race comes up to you and tackles you in a hug and picks you up and throws you over his shoulders. 

"RACETRACK PUT ME DOWN!" 

"Haha why goily I your best friend so I have the right to do whatever I want." 

You roll your eyes while the rest of the boys are just laughing and buying papes. 

Race finally sets you dwon and you punch his arm and then kiss his cheek smirking when he blushes. 

Race won't admit it but he has the biggest crush on you but your to oblivious to see it. 

You and Race buy your papes and head over to your usual selling spot.

You had both had sold all of your papes in just 6 hours which was actully pretty fast considering it normally takes all day and you don't even sell all of them. 

You and Race start to walk back to the lodge house for the night. 

You were both askin each other random questions when you asked a question that freaked him out. 

"Race as my best friend what would you do if I told you I was pregnant?" 

Race stops dead in his tracks with a look of shock on his face. 

"Why...why do you ask?"

"Don't worry i'm not I promise I am just wondering what you would do?" 

"I guess I would ask who the father is and then talk with him and make sure he was there for you." 

"Awww your the best friend ever." You say as you side him and the run to the lodge house. Race laughing and following behind you. 

You both walk in and see all the boys playing poker. 

"Hey y/n and Race you guys wanna join?" Asks Albert.

"Nah boys I'm gonna shower and then head over to Katherine's to hangout. You say as you walk off to the showers. 

Once you are out of sight Race takes a seat on the sofa and looks at all the boys. 

"Hey fella's can I talk to you about somethin?" 

"Sure, what's up Racer?" Asks Crutchie. 

"Well I think I might love y/n." "Do you think I am crazy?" 

"Nah I don't think you is crazy for liking her, I think your crazy for thinking you will have a shot with her." Says Albert laughing him. 

Race rolls his eyes.
