"Louis..." Harry's jaw went slack as soon as they stepped into the restaurant, "babe this is insane, like crazier than the places back home," he looked around in awe.
"You like it?" Louis raised his eyebrows as he took his hand and led him to the maitre-d.
"Love it," Harry said through an airy chuckle.
"Well I built it," Louis smirked, making his boyfriend's head snap to him.
Harry opened and closed his mouth, if possible now being more astonished.
"C'mon babe, you really think I only have buildings back home?" Louis teased him, "built the hotel we're staying at too."
The younger man looked at him wide eyed, the hotel they were staying at being more than extravagant, "are you in the process of taking over the world? Geez," he muttered as they were being shown to their table.
Louis chuckled, "working on it," he joked.
As soon as they got to their table Louis pulled Harry's chair out for him and tried not to show the younger man just how excited he was. He hasn't traveled in too many years and especially coming to a place like this was more than special. Louis knew Harry would love the food and this was the first of many restaurants they were going to.
"You want me to get menus without the prices so you don't freak out?" Louis asked through a small laugh once he got comfortable in his chair.
Harry rolled his eyes, "what's the point, I already know you're gonna go money crazy on this trip."
Louis hummed as he smiled to himself, not only spoiling his boyfriend with restaurants but definitely a fair amount of shopping as well.
"Speaking of money I actually wanted to talk to you about something," Harry said as he bit his lip.
The older man furrowed his eyebrows before saying a quiet "sure," trying not to grow nervous as he saw Harry fidgeting in his seat.
"So uhm, I thought a lot about what to do with the money from Christmas and I have an idea but I want to run it by you."
Louis could breathe a bit easier at that, at least happy Harry wanted to do something with the money, "yeah, what is it?"
"I would really like for you to start investing it again and when I have enough I want to refurbish another LGBTQ center," Harry said, keeping his eyes on the man across from him to see his reaction.
Louis raised his eyebrows, if anything this was just another thing that proves how big his boyfriend's heart is, "I think that's a great idea H," he said softly, "but I won't lie it'll take a bit to raise what it costs to do something similar like the building in Queens," he said honestly.
Harry bit the inside of his cheek as he nodded, "well how much was it to do that building? I mean we raised a ton at the fundraiser."
The blue eyed man opened his mouth but was unable to say anything. He had hoped Harry would never ask, but he couldn't lie.
"Just about $25 million," he said quietly.
Harry went wide eyed, looking at him like he was crazy, "Louis what the hell? I didn't know you spent that much. You didn't-"
"Listen," Louis stopped him before he could freak out, "H buying a building is expensive, and then you have renovations on top of it, equipment, furniture, there are a lot of pieces that add up," he tried to explain.
The younger man was still in shock, somewhat slumping in his chair as he heard that.
"But babe I'll happily put a bit more money in there to make the account grow quicker," Louis said as he reached his over to place it on top of Harry's.
