The smell of strawberries awoke me
Everything hurts. My head, legs, face, arms, hands, torso and the list goes on. I slowly tried opening my eyes but the lights were too bright for my head. So I closed them again. However I quickly noticed that the bed beneath me wasn't the same cranky dorm bed. The entire room also smelled different. I could smell strawberries and nature.

I tried listening to the sounds. I mostly heard birds and some other animal sounds I didn't recognise. I heard footsteps right outside my door, with some talking. An older guy's voice and a voice I knew all too well; Percy. "I didn't know she was a Demigod! I tried getting away from all of this, I swear. I thought she was just a mortal, she seemed like everyone else. I mean she's 17, that's insanely old for a Demigod. It never crossed my mind. How didn't I know.." Percy sounded upset. The older voice said "Percy it is okay, she is here now. May the Gods know how she's survived after all these years." "Maybe that power hid her from monsters, it's something I've never seen before. I felt so warm, and healed." Percy told the man. I wanted to get up so I could hear the conversation better until the floor creaked. "We'll talk later about this Percy, for now she is awake." The guy had great ears.

I finally opened my eyes and felt the sunshine on my skin, it felt good, like home. The door opened and Percy walked in, with the older guy. I stood up and gave Percy a tight hug. For a second it felt like a normal school day, until I looked up to take a look at the older guy, who turned out to have the body of a horse. Like an upper human body, and lower body a horse. It took me by surprise and I almost tripped. Percy laughed and helped me get up. "I'm so sorry, you must be so confused right now." Percy said. "Yeah just a bit. I mean, totally fine for someone who just saw a centaur." I told them. "Excellent, you know your Greek mythology well. Before we continue to talk I want to explain who I am, where you are and what's gonna happen to you." The centaur explained calmly. "Uhm what's going to happen to me? I hope to go back to school. I mean me and Percy still have the year to finish?" "Not anytime soon i'm afraid, i'm sorry. I'll make sure to not get you in trouble at your college, I promise. Now where was I. My name is Chiron, and like you already said i'm indeed a centaur. The place where we are right now is the big house, it's an administrative building of camp halfblood. but we also use it as an infirmary, that's why you are here, you were in a bad shape when Percy brought you in. Luckily some nectar and ambrosia cheered you right up. Now about where we are, the place is called camp halfblood. We are a camp that takes in Demigods and we train them and keep them safe. You see that the monster you fought can never cross camp halfblood, it's protected. You are safe here, which brings me to my last point, and the most important one. You're a demigod yourself, just like Percy and all the others here at camp halfblood. That means that either of your parents is a Greek God. The Greek Gods have never died out, they've just been moving across the world. They just don't stay in one place you see. This must be a lot to take in, but Percy will gladly explain everything and answer all of your questions. You can stay with him in his cabin until we find out who your Godly parent is."

This cannot be real.

How could this be real, Demigods, monsters and Greek Gods. I mean I love Greek myths but this was taking it to another level. I can't be a halfblood.

Percy grabbed my hand and looked me in my eyes. "I used to be in your position, I know what you are going through. It's not easy finding out about this. But I'm gonna help you, okay?" He said. I nodded at him. Chiron looked up at us and smiled. "Now I'll get back to you guys at dinner, I'll introduce you to everyone and you'll slowly find a home here." Chiron sounded sincere like he had broken the news a million times. He left the room.

For a second I felt time slowing down, until I realized I fell down. Percy sat me down on the bed. "My God, where did all of my energy go? I have no clue what happened out there Percy. I remember the woman, I mean monster, and you fighting her. But I don't remember fighting her myself, like Chiron said." Percy looked troubled and sat down next to me. "I'll explain what happened later. First, I think you should get a tour around the camp. I'll explain everything you want to know but it's better if I just show everything." He said sternly.
