A gunshot awoke me
Obviously my day started terribly because I had only slept for approximately 4 hours and the first thing I heard was a gunshot. Apparently it was a normal thing for these sorts of things to wake you, Percy told me. So that's what camp halfblood was like, a couple of chaotic demigods all stuck in one summer camp trying to survive, sounds well, fun.

I didn't want to tell Percy this yet because it was his second home but the camp just didn't feel homey to me. I feel so out of place. Maybe it's because I haven't been claimed. And maybe then I could finally bond with my siblings over our terrible Godly parents. Percy did notice me being down though. I was more quiet and just in my head, always thinking. It's like I'm observing everyone. And I'm just there.

A part of me just can't believe I am a child of the Greek Gods. Let alone be someone who can actually survive out there and kill monsters. I just want everything to go back to normal, being alone, studying, getting bagels at Jonesy's. It was for sure more simple than all of this.

"Hey, I know it's been a while since you've arrived here, and I've given you some space to take everything in. But I think it would be a good idea if you start training and doing some camp activities. You should have been claimed by now, but we could still start training, it can be fun you know. Get your mind off things. I'll help you out, I promise." Percy said. I had been kind of avoiding training and, well, doing 'camp' activities.
"Yeah alright, I've been kind of dreading it ever since you mentioned it. But I think I'm ready. Just go easy on me?"
"Haha ofcourse! Plus the most fun part is choosing a weapon. I chose mine when I first started training. its Greek name is Anaklusmos-"
"Riptide? I love that name."
"Your greek is improving! And yes, like riptide. It can change into a pen and it can never disappear. It's made of celestial bronze, meaning it can only hurt demigods and monsters, not mortals." He explained to me.
"And do I just pick or is there like a magical ceremony I have to do first?"
"Ahah well no, but also yes? Some demigods had a certain attraction towards their weapon, but just don't overthink it and go for your gut" Percy reassured me.

The sun was out and the weather was again amazing. I took everything in, the demigods fighting in the arena, the forges and all of the metals reflecting in the sun, and all of the magical creatures just existing. This camp still amazed me. We finally arrived at the armory, it was a large metal shed. It was filled with all sorts of weapons; daggers, swords, guns, shields, spears, you name it. Some of the weapons looked old as well. I swiped my finger on one of the shelves and it was filled with dust. Percy stood at the door and was carefully watching my every move, he looked curious. "How old are some of these weapons?" I asked him. "Well some of them are eons old, riptide is 1000s of years old" he explained. Wow that is really old, how is that even possible. I looked at every weapon but didn't really feel any connection. Nothing attracted me.

Until I saw something shine in the corner of my eye. The sun was reflecting on the weapon and it gave off this white green color, so I turned to it. I could see a clearer image of the weapon now. It was a sword, about 29 inches. The blade was this silver rusted golden color, while the grip part was brown leather bound around an old golden color. The blade was like 22 or 23 inches. It had a snake at the start of the blade and at the end of the grip part. It looked amazing, like the blade was coming out of the snake's mouth. The blade itself was not wide but also not thin, it looked perfect in my hand. like it just fits. At the end of the sword, the blade made a little turn to the left, like a scythe mixed with a normal sword. I admired it. the colors, the old rustic look, the carvings at the bottom, and the way it looked in my hand, and most importantly how it felt. I took it all in. I knew that this blade was the one.

"Well, now that is an interesting sword. It looks good on you though." Percy beamed at me. For a second I forgot he was there. "Interesting? Is that good or bad?" I asked. "Mhm, it depends. But that sword is ancient. It used to belong to a demigod with my name; Perseus. It's called Hárpē meaning to reap. It's, I think, celestial bronze mixed with imperial gold, so that is pretty normal. Although, celestial is mostly used by Greek demigods and imperial gold mostly by Roman demigods. But what's curious about your sword is that there are some rumors saying that there is a bit of Adamantine in the sword, which is a really rare metal, mostly only used by the most powerful demigods. Because the metal only gets used by the gods. So if the rumors are true it can be a very very powerful weapon or it can destroy you."
