Malcolm awoke me after I'd slept for far too long for his liking.

The sun was out and I could feel myself being stronger again. And maybe even a bit more confident. I needed it after yesterday's depressing day. There was still a weird thing in the air that was causing some tension. But nothing I couldn't fix!

"You got your things packed?" Percy asked me. "Yup! Everything, I think. Where are we driving to today?" I asked him. He was driving. I was supposed to drive but he offered because he wanted to have a distraction. "Bismarck! Another small town to stay off the radar. I think? Malcolm's driving schedule is confusing." Percy said. "Yeah but you know what happens when we don't follow it." I told him. "I get murdered probably." Percy said. I started laughing. I could already tell today was better.

We got into the car and started driving. I was sitting in front. Malcolm sitting behind me looking at a comedically looking map of North Dakota. "So the drive is long but we are making a stop in Fargo since you still wanted to eat at a diner. I thought we could get some breakfast there." Malcolm finally said. "I'd love that! We got enough cash for that?" I asked him. "Yeah we have got loads still, enough for something else than bread, crackers and coffee." He told me. I could really use some pancakes so this news made me happy. I also really love diners, they're so homey for some reason.

After around 2 hours and 50 minutes we made it to Fargo! We found a nice diner just outside of town. It was called Cooks diner. It was a small cute white with light green building. It had some neon signs but most of them were broken. The diner looked pretty old. When we entered there was just one waitress and chef. No customers. But it was still early, around 10 am. The waitress was beautiful. She was just a bit older than Percy. I noticed her hair first, long blonde box braids, they were twisted. I was so distracted by them I didn't notice her coming at us. "Goodmorning! Just the three of you?" She asked us. "Yeah just three, you guys serve breakfast?" Percy replied. "We sure do, you guys can sit anywhere, I'll be right with you!" She answered. She seemed normal, but at this point I didn't trust anyone anymore.

"Here are your menus, anything to drink?" She asked. And I could finally see her name tag clearly, Dorothea. "Is that really your name?" I asked her which might have been rude. "Yes, but people just call me Dory or Doe for short. Why?" She asked me back. "Uhm, I just liked it, that's all. Anyway, can we have some tea please?" I asked her. "Ofcourse, be right back!" Dorothea said as she walked away. "What's up with you?" Malcolm asked me. "I genuinely liked her name, nothing wrong with asking." I told him. "Still you are making us seem strange, we cannot stand out!" He said. "Look around, there is no one." I told him. Percy started laughing and Malcolm gave him an angry frown. Dorothea came back with our tea. "Ready to order?" She asked after putting everything down. "Yeah, just some pancakes for me please." I said. "I'll have an English breakfast." Malcolm said. "I'll have some french toast please." Percy finally said. Dorothea nodded and walked to the kitchen. "An English breakfast really?" I asked Malcolm. We all started laughing and things felt good. Some faint 50s songs were playing in the background as the sun shined through the windows onto the tables.

Ofcourse stuff had to go wrong again.

It all started with queen. Yes queen the band. Don't stop me now, started playing, as we don't hear this song every day. It was nice at the fair, but now, at 10 am in the morning it was terrible. Don't get me wrong, I love queen just after today not so much. So this woman walked into the diner. She was dressed as going to a funeral. A tight black dress, and a beautiful black sun hat. She looked like coming out of a Vogue cover. I could tell she didn't belong here. She walked towards Dorothea and said something I couldn't hear. I wanted to tap the guys to alert them of the woman but they were already looking at her. The woman now looked over back to us, she smiled with her bright red lipstick. She sat down close to us. I could see her, she was sitting facing my direction. Dorothea came back with our food. "There you guys go, anything else?" She asked us nicely. "No thanks, just a question, you know that woman?" Percy asked. Which was really dumb. "Uhm not really she comes here sometimes. Always dressed in black. I do like her style. But I don't know anything about her, except her order. Black coffee, everytime." She told us. We smiled and Dorothea walked away. We looked at each other and decided to just eat.
