Third person's POV of the same day, before 7pm

Just as the time passed 6:30, Jasper went out of June's room after he finished packing his bags and relaxing for a few minutes. He had one last thing to do before he left - and that was exactly what he was about to do. Mr.Jacobs had assigned him this duty to be done without June getting even a hint of it before it was completed, but he had no idea why he had told him to do it on his last day here when he did have all these days left before. But of course, he knew that he must've a reason, a solid one.

Slowly, he peeked out the room and saw June sleeping on the couch peacefully, her eyes closed and her body curled up.

Seeing the perfect chance, Jasper went up the stairs to the first floor of the house - the floor that neither June nor her dad uses. The same floor that June mentioned as being used as a storage space since only two people lived here. He opened the main door to that floor and then looked around. The hall was completely clean although there were some few items sprawled here and there. No cobwebs or even a tint of dust. Though June hated coming up here, she was extremely tidy and preferred keeping things in order around the house, especially after Jasper came. He knew that she didn't want to burden him with any household chores since that wasn't his job here. He still liked doing it for her; it was the first time that he could do something for another person besides himself.

Opening the door of the room located at the far corner of the hall, he walked inside and closed it slowly, making sure to not make much noise though the creeks were slightly audible. Bending down, he picked up a book which was kept under a drawer at the corner of the room. Not much of a secret keeper, huh? Jasper chuckled, seeing as to how easily June could've found this book if she ever checked. But being a person who preferred to respect her dad's privacy, she never cared about anything that her dad owned unless it was very strange. Nothing strange about a random book lying in the corner, right?

This must be the diary that Mr.Jacobs had been talking about, Jasper thought, opening the book and flipping through it until he found the date '30th June, 1992'. That was the last page of the diary and the last few words written on that book.

'Dear Andrew,

I wrote this diary for the sake of telling you everything, even though you don't want to hear a single word I want to tell you. I hope you find it someday.

I know that what I did is wrong. I shouldn't have hidden everything that happened, from you. I should've told you everything and cleared every misunderstanding that happened between us. I shouldn't have made you hate me.

But you do, and I'm unable to do anything.

Right now, all I wish for is to tell you the truth, to tell you the truth about your missing daughter and about your sister and her son. Your daughter isn't dead; she's safe and sound, alive and healthy. She's being protected at all times, and even if I lose my own life, I won't let her be in danger. One day, you'll be able to meet your beloved princess, and I just hope that I'll be there to see that.

If I'm still alive when you read this, I hope to restore our old friendship in the way it had been ten years ago.

From your best friend,
Jean Jacobs.'

Jasper heaved a sigh, his heart beating faster now that the truth was about to be revealed to everyone. This was only the last part of the diary, there was an entire story behind this small paragraph. But he already knew what it would be, so he didn't need to read it. Instead, he decided that he shouldn't waste any more time and show this diary to June, all of it, before he left this place.

Time for you to know the truth, June, Jasper thought, closing the book and standing up with a smile.

But that smile faded once he heard a call from downstairs.

June.

It was her. Her voice sounded muffled from there so he didn't understand if she was calling for him, but when she shouted once more, he burst out the door because those weren't simple yells or calls to tell him that Mr.Jacobs has arrived.

Instead, they were screams. Shrill, terrified screams. And it sounded muffled because someone was trying to cover her mouth.

Jasper could easily differentiate between someone calling out to him and screaming for help like that. Realizing that she was in trouble, he began to open the main door of the floor and run downstairs - except, the door was now locked from outside.

Frowning, he tried again, but to no avail. He looked down, remembering very well that he didn't lock the door or even shut it after entering the floor. That means only one thing; someone had closed the door from outside. Obviously, June doesn't have any reason to do that. Besides, she didn't even know that he'd come upstairs. Who else might've locked the door? He thought, pushing and pulling against the lock. He gritted his teeth angrily as he could still hear her muffled cries from downstairs. Someone was attacking her.

They found her this time.

No! This can't be. You should've left before this happened. You knew that they had more than enough resources to find you and yet you stayed, Jasper thought to himself, sighing angrily as he hit the tightly shut door. He had to save her, someway or the other, before it was too late. He couldn't let them hurt her in anyway.

Besides his promise to Mr.Jacobs to protect her forever, he had promised himself that he would protect June at any cost - even at the cost of his own life.

Suddenly, he stopped short and tensed up when he heard a bloodcurdling scream from downstairs. This time, it terrified him because June's voice sounded much more clearer than before and it was easy to tell that she was in pain, that she was terrified, that she needed help right now.

Without wasting a second more, without giving a thought about what he came upstairs for, Jasper gave one last hard push on the door using his shoulder and it shattered to the floor with a loud, echoing thud. Panic striking his already tensed up mind as he remembered that the reason he had been locked up by someone in this room could be to kidnap June or even harass or murder her, he ran downstairs as fast as he could, taking two stairs at a time.

Reaching the bottom of the stairs, he stopped abruptly at the sight in front of him.

There she laid, unconscious and blood covering her half naked body.
