Thank you so much!

The days following turned out just as I expected - dull and disappointing. Not that I missed going to school or anything, but I did miss my friends and the other fun stuff there, like our PE classes and the stupid fights with Ava. But at home, the only person I had to give me company was Jasper. Dad called me only once or twice after the incident, and those calls were short too. My friends called me multiple times to see what had happened to me and I told them too, but those calls weren't as fun and long as before, like it had been at the hotel. But all of these aside, I did like having some free time at home and getting to spend more time with Jasper, to get to know him more. He had already given me hints about his life and what I didn't know about him yet, so I knew that he would soon be opening up to me. When my friends sent me the notes that they'd taken down at school and the rest of the stuff that had been taught, I was totally clueless about everything and got shit-scared about the exams coming up. But then, Jasper came to my aid; he helped me write down half of the stuff, cleared a lot of the doubts I had and I learned with his help, like how I and my friends had group study sessions before. It was fun to learn it with him although he teased me a lot along with it.

"What's the chemical formula of slaked lime?"

"Um- CaO?"

"Wrong."

"CaCO3?"

"Nope."

"Ca...something?"

"You're going to write that for your exam too?" he asked me sarcastically. I rolled my eyes, "Fine, I don't know."

"It's Ca(OH)2," Jasper said, closing the book and handing it over to me, "I don't have an idea of how you could pass the exam in this way, June. You're totally clueless about the easiest stuff, how will you manage the tougher ones?"

"I just returned from a life-threatening accident, don't I need time to recap?"

"That's a mute point. You can't possibly recap when you don't know a single thing you'd been taught since the beginning," he smirked, "Your dad told me that you're quite good at most subjects, what's the matter now?"

I flushed, "I don't know. Maybe I can answer better after some recap."

"Alright. The easiest way to remember what I just asked you is to remember that calcium oxide, or quick lime, is the starting reactant and the rest two you'd mentioned come after it. You do know how, don't you?"

I nodded. I did know, but right now I was wondering how Jasper knew so much about everything that I was being taught and still chose for a career as a bodyguard to my dad rather than something much better. My first thought when he mentioned that was that he had been quite bad during his school days and that's why he chose the job of a bodyguard over that as a business writer at dad's company. This was just an example, honestly; when he was clearing my doubts or explaining something to me, I noticed how he didn't even look at the books and could still say an entire paragraph written in it. He was especially good at calculating stuff, both mathematical and otherwise, which is very advantageous in a business. Maybe I'm just too young and can't understand the real definition of 'smart' yet, but even through my view I think Jasper is really smart, intelligent and capable of handling, maybe, an entire business by himself. As he focused on making me thorough with the topics, I looked up at him with adoration in my eyes, wondering why even dad couldn't see his capabilities and supported his decision. Not that being a bodyguard is of a low position or not worthy or anything, but when a person has more capabilities than that and can certainly achieve more, then why can't they try for more? I honestly think that even dad isn't as smart or good at handling stuff as Jasper is, maybe that's why he made him his assistant.
