Luna was sitting on the floor in a random office at the Private Practise in LA staring at the wall. It had finally hit her how many people she'd actually pushed away since leaving. It hadn't occurred to her because she was putting herself first, but these were the people who helped her when she was at her lowest."Hey" Mark said sliding down the wall to sit next to her. Luna couldn't even look at him, she was overcome with guilt.
"You know luna we care that's why we are here" He said reaching out and putting his hand on her knees at that she had pulled up to her chest. She sighed wiping the tears off her face before she rested her head on Marks shoulder.
"You gotta talk to me otherwise I won't know what sort of humour to use" Mark said putting his arms around her. He sighed, him and Derek were so clueless to why she left but sitting next to her in this moment he realised that it all got too much for her to deal with.
"Mark, I don't know how I feel. I feel like I'm this person who just does things. I don't know who I am anymore" Luna cried.
"You are Luna Shepherd, and don't for one second doubt that" Mark said sitting up.
"You are just saying that so I come back" Luna laughed wiping her tears once again.
"I'm not, look you have been through some of life's baddest tragedies and yet you are still here. You are going to become a kickers surgeon one day. Even if it is here. You've got to stop doubting yourself" Mark confidently said.
"So if I decide to stay you'll let me?" Luna smirked, a part of her was still in Seattle and she knew she needed to go back. But she wanted to test the waters.
"You remember what we used to say? We are a family..." Mark said smiling.
"No one gets left behind" Derek said leaning against the door.
"See he remembered" Mark smiled pointing at Derek.
"I'm sorry for punching you" Luna smirked, she wasn't that sorry but she had to apologise.
"You're not, but I'll accept it. Luna you have to remember wherever we are we are you family. Even If that means reminding you of who you are once in a while" Derek smiled with a tear in his eye.
"I'm gonna get up so we can have a group hug" Luna said taking a deep breath before she was pulled into a hug with Mark and Derek. She smiled knowing that it really was true that you can pick your family. And even though it's a messed up family she knew in her heart that no matter where they were she could always count on them to support her.
"Are you gonna go back to Seattle?" Amelia asked peering in, Luna was gonna miss seeing Addy and Amelia everyday but it was where she belonged.
"Yeah, and you can visit at Christmas" Luna smiled, leaving the office with Mark and Derek.
"I will, now can you all leave so we can get on with work?" Amelia said handing over Luna her bag and a suitcase of her stuff she kept on her desk.
"Is this really all my stuff?" Luna looked confused at the stuff she was handed.
"Addison said she'd ship you the rest of your stuff, and this was stuff you had everywhere. The suitcase has been in lost property since before you got here. Now Shepherds and Mark next time just call me. And don't be a stranger" Amelia explained walking away from the three of them.
The three surgeons made their way to the airport and booked the next flight. They'd managed to score a whole row on the next flight to Seattle from LA. Luna was sat between the two and couldn't stop laughing at them as they both wanted the window but in the end Mark got it.
