Missing piece

~a mystery will find its way to stay that way~

It has been about six months since Luna left. And to be honest, Luna was loving life more than ever. Maybe it was the fact Addison was letting her do solo surgeries and that she was back with Amelia again as well but she didn't feel the weight on her shoulders so much everyday. 

"So Amy, what do you say about coming with me to New York? Girls trip?" Luna said putting her bag on the table, and not even taking an eye off her phone as she was looking at flights. The moment she looked up at Amelia her heart dropped. Her face was dull and Luna knew something was wrong.

"Why do you look like that...How long?" Luna asked turning behind her to see Derek and Mark talking with Addison. 

"Like 20mins, I say if you leave through the back they won't see you or not..." She said looking straight behind me.

"Luna" Derek said from behind Luna.

"Derek, How nice of you to visit?" Luna said sarcastically.

"Come on your coming back" Mark says grabbing her bag which was on the table.

"No, I'm not. You can't make me." Luna said shaking her head. Her life was easier here and she didn't want to leave it. 

"We can't make you no. But you are technically still a resident at Seattle Grace, and if Addison doesn't sign this lovely piece of paper here. You'll be yet again behind. And therefore kicked off the program, therefore not allowing you to finish your residency" Derek said with his hands on his hips. Luna hated it when he would try and call her bluff. 

"Which means you would be pushing me further away, I'll just enlist in the Army or go back to England" Luna said laughing, the thing was Derek and Luna were as stubborn as each other. 

" If you want to be a child we can treat you like a child. Luna you signed a contract with Seattle Grace if you don't fulfil your contract you will owe the Hospital money okay" Mark says, he was stood next to Derek. They both were tired and wanted her to come home. 

"Derek you're one to talk about fulfilling something. Where do you think I learnt everything from? You and you," Luna said pointing at both of them.

"No Luna you learnt those behaviours from your own family and your grimey father. So don't you dare go blaming anything on us?" He said shouting. 

"You have no right" Luna shouted before something came over her and she punched Derek.

Luna automatically felt pain in her fist, but she was too angry to even care. 

"Okay, you two separate. Luna, you go over there and you two go in there and I'll sort out your nose Derek." Amelia said pulling them apart. 

This is not how Derek and Mark thought this would go. 

Back in Seattle...

"Okay so while my husband and his stupid best friend track down Luna I am stuck covering their services lovely"  Meredith moaned walking into the Resident's lounge. She had been dumped with both their services which usually she wouldn't have cared about but she really didn't want to screw anything up again. 

"Lunas coming back?" Jackson asked glancing up from his phone, all the residents laughed at his enthusiasm, but Lexie furrowed her eyebrows at his excitement. 

"Might be, anyways I'm gonna ask Hunt. He'll know something. And he's my husband so he has to tell me" Christina smiled before walking off.

"Yo Karev was Luna any good?" A random resident asks. Everyone turned and gave the resident a disgusted look but by the time they looked back at Karev he was smirking. It earn't Karev a light slap from Meredith and everyone else shaking their heads. 

"Well, aren't you the one who made her leave? Maybe she was embarrassed that she slept with you but would have rather been with Avery" The Resident snickered and laughed before he left the lounge. It was a resident called Ford, none of them ever liked him as he really was just the Hospitals Gossip. 

"Alex you gotta stop getting involved in the Drama when she comes back she won't like it"  Meredith said before looking over to Lexie and Jackson and they both looked confused.

"Okay sorry, but she was good" He laughed which earnt him another slap. 

"Alex seriously, you're gonna get everyone against you again" Meredith said walking out the residents lounge and Alex following closely behind. Leaving just Lexie and Jackson alone. 

"What do you think?" Lexie asked Jackson, she put her hands in his and looked up at him. 

"I don't know, It's Luna she was probably good" He says confusingly back.

"Not about that. About the whole situation, I heard your argument. You care about her." Lexie said trying to get his opinion out of his head. She found it hard for him to open up and this was just another case. 

"Well I did, but I started talking to you. Then she told me she liked me then I don't know. I stopped talking to her when we got together because it was weird. Then she went and slept with Karev. She left, and I don't know how to feel about it. So stop asking me!" He said before walking out of the room. 

Lexie didn't realise that Luna liked Jackson, because she thought since that day coming out the on call room they were together. She ruined one of the best friendships she ever had because of a guy. 

All of the residents had accepted the fact Luna had left, but for Lexie and Jackson she was the reason their relationship had suffered the last few months.
