The next morning Leo awoke & sniffed deeply.
His nose had taken over many of the tasks a dogs eyes & ears usually preformed.
He stood, stretched, and sniffed again.
His nose told him.......

Amy was gone, and he smelled oatmeal cooking!! He loved warm oatmeal stirred into his breakfast of dog kibble.

He jumped off the bed & ran into the kitchen. Well, he ran as fast as old legs could carry him. This apartment was Leo's home now, he lived here with his best friend Ty. And after a few minutes of deep thought last night, Leo concluded the human woman he now so adored.......was Ty's mate.

Well good morning sleepyhead!!
I thought you were going to sleep till noon!!

Leo sat & stared at the stove, pointing his nose at what he wanted.

Oh......... you like oatmeal Leo??
Well, let's stir a little into your breakfast.....

Amy sat & ate her oatmeal, while Leo devoured his yummy breakfast.

After breakfast, Amy found a patch of sunshine on the little back porch; she held Leo & watched as he quickly fell asleep. His tummy full and happy.

Amy pulled the ring she bought for Ty out of her pocket, and looked at the words she had engraved on the inside.
Her thoughts soon drifted to an errand she ran yesterday...........

...........Amy said good bye to Leo, put on a light jacket & walked down the stairs. But at the landing she turned to the right & walked past the laundry mat, shops, & restaurants.

At the far end, Amy stepped onto the sidewalk and crossed 3rd street then turned into the 4th shop....... Hubert's Jewelry Store.

A bell dinged & an elderly man emerged from the back room.

Hi, I'm looking for a ring for a man........

Sure.......all our men's rings are here in these 2 cases......

Amy counted over 100 men's rings in the 2 cases; she sighed and began trying to narrow it down to 3. She had a photo of Ty pulled up and stared into his eyes, then at rings, then into his eyes again, then rings..........

She looked carefully for almost 15 minutes.

Yeah actually, could I see this one here, the 4th row, 6th one up.
And the very last one in the other case.
I think I've narrowed it down to 3.

Yes, it's going to be an engagement ring.

You're going to ask him to marry you??

Yes......I am. We've kind of had a falling out, I gave him his ring back. I've had time to think......and I've decided an old friends advice is very true.......we're a good match.

Is it weird I give him an engagement ring, then a wedding ring when we're married??

No, not at all. Most guys aren't given engagement rings, you're going to make him feel special!!
