Pierre from France, asked me to explain Ty's dream...... here goes.
Ty's dream is in reality, his heart talking to him.
After their last fight, Ty is looking at all his options in life, including moving to Newfoundland.
He's conflicted and is scared to move there because of losing Amy.
But he's tired of fighting with her too & contemplates a fresh start.
His dream shows Ty how deep his love is for Amy.
It reminds Ty of his promise to 'do anything for Amy'.
It teaches him life is hard and when you love someone you don't give up, no matter how hard the path you must travel.
It teaches Ty about overcoming doubts and having the guts to jump Into an unknown situation, based solely on his love for Amy.
Ty cannot even see the bottom of the hole, but knowing Amy is down there is all he needs to jump in to rescue her.
Jack said;
'Love Never Gives Up'.
The ending of the dream shows us Ty understands that principle.
He lets go of the rope to be with Amy, no matter what lies ahead.
Ty realizes now they may never escape alive; he accepts the reality that when he let go of the rope, he may die here with Amy. Leaving Amy there to die alone is not acceptable for Ty. He will love her to the very end.
In the next & final chapter.......
Ty realizes Amy knows him better than anyone.
After working on the injured dog together; Ty understands he is stronger with Amy by his side.
After the dream, Ty discovers how far Amy is willing to go for him. She would move to St John's to build a life together. She loves him that much!!
