I get home from school and I immediately type a text to Gus, it's an addiction to talk to him, it's difficult to not blush when he responds.
Me: I got home safe.
Gus: That's awesome, dude! Wanna go to my friend's house with me this weekend? My friends are coming over and Luz is hoping to actually meet you properly.
Me: hmmm, I guess I could. What will you guys be doing? And do I know anyone who'll be there?
Gus: Luz (the hostess) Luz's gf Amity, Willow, her gf Skara, Amity's siblings, Ed and Em, Em's gf Viney, Ed's bf (Luz's adopted brother) Hunter, you and I.
Me: Well as long as you're there ig I'll be fine.

"He said he'll come!" I told the group at lunch the next day. (Friday.) "That's awesome, dude! Maybe you'll stop being a 9th wheel!" "I'm still confused as to why a single person in a group of couples is considered a human wheel but, yeah." "Shush, Matt's here! Hi Matt! I'm Skara!" Skara said. Matt comes up with a shy smile. "Hi, guys, hi Gus." Luz smiled excitedly, while squeezing Amity's hand. "So, you'll be making it to my place tonight?" "Yeah, but are you sure I'm not intruding?" "Gus invited you, didn't he? Why would you be intruding if we didn't invite you. Besides, Luz really likes making new friends. It'd be weird if she didn't want you over and invited you, right?" Hunter said raising an eyebrow. "Exactly! Besides, a friend of Gus is a friend of ours." Willow agreed. "Willow has a point! Besides, you seem pretty chill like Hunter, but nicer!" "Seriously, Skara?" Hunter asked. Skara smiled innocently at him as Willow brushed her hair out of her face. "So, Matt? Do you have a crush on anyone?" Skara asked as she changed the subject. "Uhmm, yeah, but I don't want him to know yet." "Ooooh it's a him?" Skara said, winking at me. "I- yeah." "A-ANYWAYS let's change the subject and y'know? Chat?" On the way to the owl house, Matt grabbed my hand. "I-I need to talk to you." "Oh okay, what's up?." When stopped in front of the school, he looked around nervously. "Gus, can I do something crazy?" "Uh, sure I guess." He lightly put his hand under my chin and gently kissed my cheek. "I'm sorry it was probably ter-" I connected our lips. "Why, you little Twerp." "You're not allowed to talk smack about yourself, Matty." "Usually I wouldn't let anyone call me that, but I'll make an exception." "So uh, are we more than friends? Or?" "No, I kissed you because I wanted to prank you. Yes, you dummy! I like you? Okay?" "Aww, you like me, that's so embarrassing for you." "Shut uppp." "Matt! Gus! Were you waiting long?" Luz asks, running up to us. Matt grabs my hand, entwining our fingers. "No. Not long." He smiled at me. "Nah, not long at all. Let's go, Matty." "Okay, bro." I lean in to him as we walk.
