Chapter One: Thinking About The Past Again
~Aribella's POV~
I groaned and glared at the car infront of me. I swear, now-a-days, they give a driving license to anyone. Even if they don't know how to drive.
I sighed and turned on the radio to my car, Kryptonite by Three Doors Down immediately began playing. I smiled and sang along to the lyrics.
"That was Three Doors Down, now moving on. This is a post-hardcore band that originated from San Diego, give it up for Pierce The Veil. Wow, those boys certainly have talen-" I rolled my eyes at the guy talking on the radio and turned it off.
Nobody cares. They are complete assholes, especially Vic.
Why do I say this? Because I used to know the Fuentes brothers. Vic was my best friend, and when they became famous they stopped talking to me. It was a rare thing when I would get letters... but they were all from Mike telling me about what they've been up to. But nothing from Vic. He never wrote, or called, and i'm sure he's forgotten about me. He broke the promise. He broke it.
~FlashBack~
Ten Years Ago. Friday. June. 2002. I was fifteen years old back then. Vic was nineteen, and Mike was eighteen.
"Hey Aribella! Guess what?" A very cheery, and happy, Vic greeted me at the park.
"What? Please don't tell me Mike got caught smoking weed in the boys bathroom.. again!" I prayed.
Vic and Mike both laughed and sat down next to me, on the bench.
"How did you now?" Mike asked in amusement.
I giggled lightly and shook my head at Mike's teasing.
"That's not it though, this is actually good news. Our band is getting signed to Fearless Records. We're going on tour! We're going to be famous!" Vic and Mike said in unison.
I smiled, but it was faked.
Wasn't I supposed to be happy for them? Wasn't this what I wanted for them? Yeah, it was, but I was afraid. They were my only friends, the ones who I could actually trust, and they were leaving me.
The realization that they might forget about me sunk in, and I just couldn't stand it. I got up and ran away.
I heard their voices behind me, before I even noticed them infront of me.
"What's wrong?" Mike asked me as Vic wiped away the tears that I didn't realize were streaming down my face.
"Y-you guys are l-leaving," I stuttered.
Vic gave me a sympathetic smile as Mike pulled me in for a hug.
"We're going to come back. Look, everyday, we'll write a letter, or call, or something. We're not going to forget about you!" Mike told me and kissed my hair.
I looked up at him, since he was a lot taller than me, and asked, "Promise?"
He smiled half-heartedly and laughed, "Of course!"
"Say it," I glared up at him.
Curse my shortness.
"I promise," he laughed and kissed my hair.
I smiled and turned towards Vic, "This goes to you too Victor!"
~End~
I sighed. Maybe I should start from the beginning, when I first met the two Fuentes brothers.
