Chapter Four: How The Hell Did We End Up Like This?
The next morning, I was awoken yet again, by my phone.
Why must people call so early? I groaned and picked up my phone.
-Call-
"Hello?" I yawned tiredly.
A laugh was heard, "Aribella. Why aren't you up yet?"
"Shut up, Mikey!" I groaned and covered my face with a pillow.
"Mom wants to invite you over for breakfast. You down?" He asked.
"I'm game, except I need to change first cause i'm still in my pj's!" I laughed.
"Or you can just come in those," I could hear the smirk in his voice.
"I am not wearing booty shorts and a tight tank top over there!" I glared at the pillow and put it back in its place.
"Why not?" He pouted.
I heard movement and then Mike groaned, his mom probably hit him for his comment.
I giggled and got out of bed, "I'll be there in a bit!"
I quickly hung up and took out a casual outfit for today. After I put on my red skinny jeans with my Of Mice & Men white tank top, I walked downstairs and left a note for my mom telling her where I went.
I grimaced as I walked away from the safety of my mother's home and rang the Vic-Fuentes-Is-Here death-trap doorbell.
"Ari, you made it! Pasa, pasa" Victoria, Vic and Mike's mom, ushered me inside.
I smiled shyly and nervously walked inside, only to be greeted by the delicious smell of Mama Fuentes' breakfast and the loud chatter coming from the boys.
"Aribella, you're here! Good, come and meet the band. Guys, this is my best friend Aribella, Ari meet Jaime Preciado and Tony Perry!" Mike introduced.
I smiled and said a hello to them. They smiled back and pulled me in for a hug.
"Aren't you that girl Mike was skyping with a couple of months ago?" Jaime asked.
"Actually, I was skyping with the Bring Me The Horizon dudes, until this chick decided to join the chat!" Mike ruffled my hair.
Victoria rolled her eyes at her son's comment and told us to sit down at the dinning table since the breakfast was starting to turn cold.
"Are you saying you didn't want me there?" I playfully teased him.
He laughed and rolled his eyes as the other two boys bursted out laughing. My smile faded away once I realized I was sitting across from Vic, and he was giving me a sour expression. I sighed and shifted around uncomfterably under his gaze.
"So, I heard you're working with Bring Me The Horizon?" Jaime asked me.
I nodded brightly, but before I could answer, I heard Vic say something very rude. "She's probably one of their groupies too.."
I gasped and so did the others.
"Victor, apologize!" Mike and Mrs. Fuentes shouted at him.
He rolled his eyes.
"No, it's okay. That's his opinion. Anyways, I actually forgot, I have to go. I'll uh, see you guys later!" I said my farewell and ran out of the house.
I wasn't just going to sit there and let Vic talk to me like that. He had no right to call me a whore.
I rolled my eyes and wiped my tears away, silently sinking down on my bed and forcing my eyes shut. They fluttered open once I heard the vibration coming from my phone, meaning I had just gotten a new text.
-Text-
To: Aribella
From: Mike
Hey, Ari. Are you alright? Vic didn't mean to, he's just been acting strange lately.
To: Mike
From: Aribella
I'm fine. Vic's an asshole
To: Aribella
From: Mike
I think you still like him. If you get a msg from Vic, that means he likes you. I just gave him a speech!
I laughed and rested my head on my soft pillows. The text never came, or so I thought...
I fell asleep quickly, and didn't wake up until the next day.
