"Minho, what the hell was that?!" I yelp, clinging on his shoulder as he pulls me closer, so it doesn't see me.
"That was the griever bug like thing we talked to you about." He states quietly.
My lip quivers as I hear the light sound of clanging metal approach the cold stone wall we were clinging against.
He covers my mouth to stop my worries.
A few seconds pass by, which felt like hours and the creatures find its attention somewhere else.
"Where's Ben?" I whisper as he takes his hand off of my mouth.
He shrugs and takes me hand tightly, slowly peeping around the corner to see if the coast is clear.
We creep and almost tip toe around the maze, trying to map the blood that was left amongst the walls.
*
"Why are they taking so long?" Gally impatiently asks Chuck, leaning onto the stone wall."Be patient, Gally. They'll be here soon. It's only been 3 hours." Chuck shrugs and walks away from him.
"Come on y/n." He whispers under his breath.
*
"We're lost. Aren't we?" I query Minho with a shaky breath, from running so fast."We're getting out of here, don't worry, y/n." He states, grabbing my sweaty hand and leading me further.
"Also I'm not leaving you because Gally will kill me." Minho laugh's nervously, gripping my dripping hands tighter.
"Wait, what?" My eyes widen, staying close beside him.
"He'll kill me if anything bad happens to you." He conveys once again and I give off the same expression, widen eyes.
"I think we're near, I remember these vines." I assert, pointing my finger to the green, long vines in front of us.
I let go of his hand and hastily run off into the mist near the vines.
"Y/n. Come back, it's not safe." He speaks, slowly walking into the mist and easily blinded.
"Y/n?" Minho quivers and maintains his stride towards me.
I let out a shrill cry, echoing through the tall, grey walls. The griever repeats my scream.
"RUN!" Minho hoots from a long distance, since he had started running since I had screamed.
My feet pick up speed and I lose Minho within the mist.
Shuck.
*
"What the bloody hell?" Newt yells from his hammock, running over the maze wall doors. All the other gladers run to the commotion.
"Y/N!!" Chuck and Gally yell from the outskirts of the maze doors.
"Is that y/n?!" Alby bawls, with his hands on his knees, panting.
*
I repeat what Minho had told me when we trained: put your hands by the side of your chest, deep breaths and one thing that he didn't teach me is: don't.look.back."SHIT!" I wail, twisting my head to look back towards the machine, bug-like creature.
I turn a sharp corner.
It was a dead end.
"DAMMIT." Yell-whisper, I see a tall piece of vines that looked decently easy to climb.
My arms work suddenly, making my way to the top.
I fix my shirt down and brush the dust off of my trousers. I laugh sarcastically.
Shuck.
I twist my petite body and the keen creature is towering above me locking eyes with me. Its' goo leaked onto my face.
My eager self paced back and fell over a rock, landing in the large pile of vines. My heart races like a jackhammer as the griever attempts to jump on top of me, however I instantly roll down onto the hard, cold floor.
I laugh and hold my tongue out and blow raspberries, pulling out my middle fingers on each hand.
It's screech made me run like a flash to wherever the maze walls take me.
*
I laugh nervously, hyperventilating, kneeling down to knees as I get lost.It appears to almost darken and my patience was eating me alive.
I knew I HAD to get out.
It wasn't my time.
I groan loudly and sprint everywhere, following the blood spots, I brush my hands through my hair as I see the sun rest in.
*
"They should be back by now .." Chuck whispers, sitting down on the dirty ground.Gally shakes his head and sits next to Chuck.
"She's going to get back." Gally determines, tapping Chucks shoulder two times.
...
"Who's that?!" Thomas yells from a distance, seeing a shadow figure, limping towards the gladers.
Ben almost face plants, but Gally catches him, placing him down onto the flat surface.
"Jeff, Clint!" Alby hollers, indicating them to rush over.
"What happened where's Minho and.. y/n?" Chuck requests with a frown.
He shakes his head.
"I'm sorry. I lost them after a griever almost attacked us." Ben cry's out.
Gally grunts while the wind whistles and the stone doors clang.
"No, no, no." Gally repeatedly discloses.
*
"Minho, Ben!!" I blare like a horn, panting and staring up at the dark, gloomy sky.At this point, it's pitch black and there's no sign of civilization.
"Y/n." A light whisper appears behind me.
"Minho." I whimper, kneeing down at him, seeing he's been injured.
"What happened?" I worry, putting pressure to his wound.
"Talk later. We have to go now. Or we'll be stuck here ALL night." Minho winces at the pressure.
His hand wraps around my shoulder and I hault him up aggressively, grunting because his weight pushed against me.
My jelly arms collapse, causing Minho to fall back and roar with agony.
"I'm sorry, shit, I'm so sorry." I repeat, putting my hand over my mouth.
"It's alright, try again." He demands, putting his arm out.
"No, no, I can't. Minho I'm not strong. You even said so yourself!" I half-yell, panting from the adrenaline.
"Y/n. Come on, you can do this. And plus you don't live without me. We have to take a right then a sharp left and we're there. I recognize these vines." He conveys, wiping sweat off of his temples with his none blood hand.
I grunt and hoist him up pronto, his arms cling onto me like a toddler.
My breathing heavily increases, limping and following his weak directions.
Wind is brushed against me as I see a shine of a light , which is most likely a torch.
"Is that Ben's?" I weakly question him, not taking a break.
He nods slightly, loosing consciousness.
"NO. Shit! MINHO!" I emphatically scream, trying to shake him awake.
A boisterous noise was repeated behind me, imitating my clamor.
