CHAPTER 38: Falling Forever
"Get some sleep." She says behind me. I unlock the door to my room.
"Go to hell." I spit at her, before ripping the door open, letting out an angry growl and slamming the door shut with a resonating bang that certainly made this situation appear almost normal, a daughter mad and slamming her door closed on her parents just to make a point. I lock it for good measure, shoving my purse onto the side couch of the room and clapping once for the sensor lights to turn on. I rip off my heels and huff, throwing them towards the darkness of my bed and stilling when they don't land on it.
They're caught between a pair of strong hands. He makes me pause, like a stopwatch where the stem is clicked and there he was, cognac brown eyes that hold mine so strongly. I tackle him to the bed with a hug, being extremely quiet even as I squeeze my arms around him, curling my legs around his torso as he sits up and squeezes me to him, holding me so protectively.
I breathe him in, "Aaron." I whisper as if in a prayer.
He cups my cheek, "That was an interesting slam." He whispers, grinning as he moves closer, brow-to-brow, he holds me in a bundle of warmth. I nuzzle into him, running my fingernails down the nape of his neck.
"How did you get out? How did you even find me? How do we stop the wicked bitch of the Earth from knowing or finding out? Aaron, you scared the bloody shit out of me, I'm the one carrying our baby, the least you could do is not make me want to cry more. I've been emotional enough as it is," I grumble, wiping the corner of my eyes.
"Honey-"
"No, do not 'honey' me, I know I was the one who left with her, but it was to protect Eight, because she said she would stop Javier from ever seeing the light of his family if I didn't accept her terms and she threatened you. I am not losing my husband and the father of my child because of this bullshit. My feet are tender, I need a back massage and I want a neck massage too but you can't do that because you could cause a miscarriage, I hate all the food I've been forced to eat and everything that has happened has been a nightmare. I have no freaking chocolate and the psychopathic bitch makes me second guess all the food I've been eating. I am sniffing everything down to the freaking molecule and I have such a goddamn headache and you-you stupid, pain in the arse-anything could happen if she checks in with Grayson's ugly building and you're not trapped in a freaking containment, then she's going to come right back in here and lock me up somewhere...Mmhmm." He cups my cheeks and slams his lips against mine in a soft, yet firm momentum while I feel movements of others in the room, light chuckles and giggles at the couch.
Aaron lingers with another longingly beautiful kiss against my lips, "Breathe." He whispers, lovingly. His eyes roam over my face, holding me warmly in against his chest.
I sniffle and drop against his chest, "And I've been freaking cold for a while now." I grumble, pulling my arms in under his long coat. He rubs my back and holds underneath me.
I curl my head into his neck, feeling him straining on his emotions when I do that.
He lowers us down onto the couch, "Say 'hello' to the others, sweetheart." He whispers against me, amused and almost feeling like he could breathe again.
I jolt up. Samsara is the first I see and I reach over to her, "You're alright." I breathe out in relief. She hugs me close on the seat.
"We are absolutely fine, you are the one who needs tending too, girl. Aaron gave us a low down of what happened. I can check your vitals and blood work right now to see how everything is." She calms me with just those words, I smile at her and nod, Aaron's extremely warm body behind me, I grab his arm and immediately curl it around me. He chuckles against my hair, cradling me.
