CHAPTER 19: Not So Bulletproof

I twirl in a flip through the air as his sword cuts each tear drop from the sky. He'd aimed for my stomach just as it rains upon my skin hypnotically, the water droplets danced its decorative melody with the hammering nails of its dangerous technique. I squint at him, he skids to a forward roll and stands back up. I fix my daggers to point my opposite direction as I run to him, he raises his sword, attempting to deflect but I power through, my hair effectively swishes extra water drops into his eyes. My swipes towards him blur, I throw in a few punches. He punches towards my stomach and lifted his body in a flip to attempt to land a kick towards my temple in a knock out movement.

He failed as I easily move out of the way, a whistle from the highlighted gym opening has my attention diverted to the entrance. I see Aaron and his group being ordered to stay by Pierce when Fern tackles me to the wet, mud stained grass floor in the field of attacking storms. I deflect his fists as he straddles me with the rain attacking my face, he chuckles above me, bare-chested and burning.

I use the easiest deflect and encase my arms around his neck, before squeezing my biceps around, he grunts in my ear, kneeling with my legs around his waist and his hands in my wet hair as he groans deep within his chest. Before he dives his face into my breasts and effectively gets out of my hold when I was fairly shocked at this.

His mouth was wide open and he was panting mercilessly against the cold rush of the winds, he looks down at my position through wet eyelashes and squinting eyes to see me. Both his arms are wide as he clasps both hands over my head, holding both my wrists in one hand as his other slowly, hesitantly graces my jawline.

"Two can play with fire." He murmurs but, leans in to block me from the rain.

I smile, raising my muddy wet head up towards him, "But, only one gets the flame." Head butting him, he roars with a howling sensation, I kick both his legs out so he drops on top of me, I roll us so I'm on top and ram a fist to his jawline before standing and diving for my daggers. He's slow to get up as we're now a good metre between each other.

I roar over the crashing winds and the electrical drops of ferocious lengths in the sky, I raise a hand to him, "Catch me if you can!" I yell, before breaking into a run, I hear his splashes behind me but I pump my legs faster when he screams.

"OLIVINE!" the instruments of the storm wafted higher, they sung out their tremendous symphony, the essence of nature was screaming its worldly fulfilling cries. I'm twenty metres from the opening when I twirl at the sound of his cry of anguish before his body flies into mine. We rotate in gravity before thumping to the coldest of surfaces and skidded along its territory, he took the worst of it as he nuzzled his head into my neck for safety against the soaked dirt flying around us.

Knives of sheeted ice pierce my thighs as we flew closer to Pierce's feet. Before knocking into the concrete before his feet. Fern reacts to it first with an "AH!" I'm saved when he lifted me and I skidded across the slippery floor, screaming along the way. I grunt when I roll myself to a stop, my hair drips water essence along the floorboards.

Pierce claps his hands once he closes the doors and Fern, seemingly only a little injured, stands with a limp, walking over to my beat form lying on the floorboards. He takes a seat next to me, "You did good." He breathes out, panting as he shakes out his hair, I cringe away. Like a dog, he sprinkled more droplets onto me. An upbeat song plays in the background of the speakers, I throw an arm around my forehead at the sound of Pierce's steps.

"You two get cleaned up, we're meeting one of the league agents that's situated undercover from Washington, they're here to check in with the office but, until then, they'd agreed to come meet you, Olivine." He says to me. I glance up through annoyed wet-brimmed eyes. He crosses his arms over his chest, giving me a raised eyebrow.
