CHAPTER 17: Be True To The Grave
(Aaron's POV)

"It's true, Aaron. Despite how much you hate me, despise me for all I care, I lost Olive too. You are not the only one who loved her, perhaps in different ways. But I knew her, I knew why she had nightmares every night, why she was wary of you from the moment you yelled at her because I thought she would be safe in your hands. Yet, I had never been so wrong in my life." Pierce spits at me, before choking when I shove the back of my gun against the back of his neck and don't hesitate to do the same to Fern as Agent Alexander and Agent Javier wrap up Reed's team, including himself. Two other Agents help drag the others to be detained and slid into the SUV.

I clench my jaw as we drive, staring straight forward in the passenger seat because I couldn't look at any of them Bolton, Loren, Terrence and Eliza were all still awake, we hadn't drugged them or knocked them out like I had done to Fern and Pierce.

Just seeing those two, after almost a year and a half from her demise, I wanted nothing more than to lock them up and throw away the key. That's how I felt, it's even what I wanted while Reed stares at me, the car ride is silent, "It was Soren who shot Olive." He says behind me.

I narrow my eyes, strengthening my muscles while Javier drives, "You come forward now? After a year and a half...you think you have leverage. Where's the fucking proof, Reed? Because, all I see, is a bitch trying to cover his tracks after you got my girl killed. There's nothing you can say or do to stop me from torturing you." I spit at him, green-eyed arsehole, my fingers were ready for the beating.

"She lied when we met. About you. She even managed to convince Pierce before she was shot. Vaughn and Kaine were only at the club that day to make sure Soren filled out the deed. You want proof, Westlake. Go to your boss's office. Not one of you has seen it right? Three guesses why." He says to us.

Agent Alexander tightens his hand against his gun, "Shut up." He says, stoically.

I don't turn back, but nothing else is said.

I lean back and close my eyes, in the moments I needed her the most, I just drew her in my head, right from her adorable short height to the beautiful sunshine blonde curls that drove me through absolute insanity when I think of her, "Aaron." Javier says harshly next to me.

I snap my eyes open in annoyance, before hearing a groan from Fern. I look over my shoulder, "At least let me hit him once." I mutter in annoyance, looking back while Reed looks out the window in stoic irritation. Terrence folds his arms next to Eliza and Bolton looks over to Reed cautiously. I study each of them closely...nowadays, they could cheat lie detectors, manipulate technological attributes to find the truth in this impossible equation.

"What would Soren say about an interrogation?" I mutter to Javier, looking over to him.

He raises an eyebrow, "He's not there. Board meeting. Another one, apparently." He says, staring straight forward before he indicates into the main entrance, garage doors open and he slides right in. I snap out of the back, Branson gives me a raised eyebrow next to Reynolds.

I nudge to the back, "Guess who we got?" I tell them, before opening the back.

Branson cracks his knuckles, "This is going to be seriously therapeutic."

It so fucking will be.

I slam my bloodied fist straight against his cheek. The metal chair clinks as Fern groans in menace, "Far out, Westlake, that almost hurt." He spits blood at my flimsy charcoal shirt.

I grab the back of his head, "Really? Because you look ready to pass out, and I'm not fucking done taking as much blood as I want. You called her 'your apprentice', you were supposedly her mentor, Fern and yet, she's not here, and you're still alive. That doesn't make any sense to me, because you promised to protect my girl when I let you go with her. I've never hated someone so much as you and Pierce. So, prepare yourself because everyone but me, will be merciful." I spit at him, shoving his temple against the metal table while Agent Alexander sits at the table, sighing in defeat.
