Your POV
Hi there, my name is (Y/N) (L/N), and... umm... this is going to be embarrassing for me to say, but... I am an ugly duckling. Yes, you heard that right. For years, people have always told me that I was ugly, so ugly that no one can make eye contact with me.
In my family, I grew up with two order sisters. And to them, looks mean a lot to them. I never a girl that was more girly than they are. Anytime they see me around the house, they would say stuff like this...
"Ew, who the hell is this ugly mess?"
"That's our ugly-ass brother. Don't acknowledge it, otherwise he'll make you ugly as well."
They got that mindset from my mother, and she was just as awful as she was. But I was lucky that my dad isn't like that. Anytime those three would say something terrible to me, he would come to my rescue and scold them.
But all the same, I just wish I could meet someone who didn't judge for the way I look.
______________________________________After school...
Location - Station Entrance
I would like to say that school is a safe place for me but it isn't. Even though my sisters don't go to the same school as me, that didn't stop the other students for picking on me for how the way I look. What made it worse is that the teachers don't do anything about this. They let it happen. They encourage the students to bully each other.
So I was somewhat happy when school was out for the day. As I was walking home, I looked down at the ground and feeling depressed, knowing exactly what's going to happen next.
"Maybe I should do something else instead of going home..." I said to myself.
Moments later, I hear someone calling out to me.
"Excuse me." They said.
I looked up and saw a girl with long teal hair looking at me with a concern expression.
"I hate to ask, but are you okay?" She asked. "You seem quite upset."
"Yeah, I guess you can say that..." I replied. Wait, why did I answer her?
"Do you need someone to talk to?" She asked.
"I guess that would be nice." I told her.
"Very name. My name is Hikawa Sayo. What about you?" She asked.
"My name is (Y/N) (L/N), the most unattractive person you'll ever meet."
"Unattractive? What makes you say that?" She asked, most confused.
"There's a bench over there." I said. "Let's go over there, and I'll explain everything."
Sayo and I headed over to the bench, sat down and I told her about what I was going through since I was little. I don't know what it is, but being around this girl is making feel calm. It's like she's viewing me has a human being, and some ugly duckling.
After telling Sayo everything, she told me what she had to say.
"I know it must be hard for you, but you shouldn't let your mother and sisters get to you." She said.
"But... what if I can't?"
"Don't worry, I know you can."
She smiled warmly at me, and I guess I couldn't help but let out a smile of my own.
"Maybe you're right..." I began.
"Because of the abuse my sisters and mother did, I became a bit insecure on what people thought about me, but I guess I should be proud with the way I look, huh?"
"Indeed." She said and got up.
"Huh? Are you leaving?"
"Yes. I have to get home before it's too late." She said. "I hope you'll remember what we talked about."
She began to walk away, and I felt a bit bad. Even though she made me feel better, I felt bad that I never got to learn anything about her. Oh well, maybe someday I'll see her again, and when I do see her again, I'll thank her for saving me.
The end
