Your POV

Hi there, my name is (Y/N) (L/N), and I haven't exactly been living the easy life. I lived with my mom and dad, who are always busy with work, and my older sister named Sakura. She and I never get along. Like most siblings, we get into fights about almost anything. Whenever my parents see us fighting, they would always take her side,  and I would get in trouble for it.

To keep me from losing my mind, I would always go to my phone and text the one person that I always calms me down. Her name is Yamato Maya, the drummer of Pastel*Palettes, and the best friend I've ever had. She and I have been friends since we were little. She's my next door neighbor, and ever since we got our phones, we started texting each other all the time.

As the years past, she and I are in our third year of high school. Maya became an idol, and I'm still trying to figure out on what I was doing with my life. Until that moment happens, I will support Maya down her idol path.

Location - Edogawa Music Shop

It was just a normal day for Maya and I. She and I went over to the music shop to buy some drumsticks.

"Thank you for coming with me to get these drumsticks." Maya said as we were walking.

"It's no problem." I replied. "Are you happy with the drumsticks?"

"Yeah, I have a feeling that they're going to last for a while." She said.

As Maya and I continued to walk home, the gust of cold wind was blowing in our direction, and poor Maya was feeling it.

"It sure is cold, isn't it?" Maya questioned.

"Well, yeah, it is the winter season after all."

I took off my hoodie and placed it on Maya, who was taken aback by my actions.

"(Y/N)-san... you didn't have to do that!" She said.

"Don't worry about it." I told her. "I don't want you to catch a cold."

That's when I noticed something interesting: Maya began to blush a little, and gave me a small smile while staring at me. While looking at her smile, I felt my heart skipping a beat. What could this mean?

That evening...

Location - (L/N) Residence, (Y/N)'s Room

After having a decent meal with my family, I stayed the night in my room, staring at my ceiling. All of my homework is done, and I managed to survive the day without getting attacked by my older sister. However, I had something else on my mind. I kept thinking about Maya and smile of hers.

There was a knock on my door, and that snapped me back to reality. Then I heard a familiar voice, one I didn't want to hear.

"Hey brat, I need to borrow a pencil from you." Sakura said from the other side of my bedroom door.

I sighed as I grabbed the only pencil on my desk, opened the door, and gave it to her.

"Just make sure to give it back to me when you're done." I said. Not like she will.

"Don't worry, I promise I will." She said and winked at me.

"Yeah, we'll see about that." I said and right when I was about the close the door, she stopped it.

"What's with you?" She asked. "You normally argue with me about borrowing your stuff."

"Sorry, I got something on my mind." I told her. I guess I should've kept that to myself.

"Oh yeah? Care to share with me?" She asked.

I didn't want to share this with my older sister, of all people, but I shouldn't keep this to myself. So I guess talking about this with my sister might be the best idea.

"I'm just thinking about Maya." I said.

"Maya-chan? The girl from next door?" She questioned.

"Yep."

"Why think about her?" She asked.

"I think... I might be falling in love with her." I said as I began to blush and look away.

My sister began to giggle.

"I never thought I would see the day where my younger brother would fall in love with anyone." She said.

"What do I do about this, onee-chan?" I asked.

"If I were you, I would go to Maya-chan and just be honest with her." I said.

"Be honest with her?"

"Yeah, just tell her how you feel." She said.

"And what if she doesn't feel the same way?" I asked.

"Then... she doesn't feel the same way." She replied. "That's the worst thing that can happen."

"I see..."

Sakura began to go to her room, leaving me alone with the advice she gave me. I took a deep breath as I grabbed my phone and started texting Maya.

A few minutes later...

Maya and I met each other outside of our houses, and when I saw her, my heart started racing again.

"Ah, there you are, (Y/N)-san." She smiled.

"Hi Maya, thanks for coming to see me." I said.

"It's not a problem."

"So what did you want to talk about? You said it was important, right?" She asked.

"Oh, right. Important. Hehe." I said as I tried not to have a nervous breakdown.

You can do this, (Y/N). Just tell her how you feel. I took a deep breath, and just said it.

"I wanted to tell you that I love you." I said.

Maya started blushing in surprise.

"You... love me?"  She asked, still trying to process what I said.

"Yes, I do." I began. "I love you so much that I had to tell you as soon as I can."

"(Y/N)-san..."

A smile appeared on her face as I said that.

"And if you like, I would like to take you on a date if that's okay." I said.

Maya giggled and made her way towards me with an answer.

"Sure. I think it's a wonderful idea."

She gave me a kiss on the cheek, and I couldn't help but blush.

"When should we go?" Maya asked.

"Any day works for me." I replied with a smile.
