I am here in a new school, hoping to make a fresh start, but... I don't have any friends right now. Ever since I came here, I would always sit alone under this tree in the courtyard, and I would watch the other students hanging out and having a good time.

I let out a sigh, and before I knew it, someone came over towards me. I looked up, and see a girl hovering over me. She had wavy blue hair with a side ponytail and she big violet eyes.

"Hi, do you mind if I join you?" The girl asked.

Am I hearing that right? Does that girl want to join me?

"Umm, yeah, I don't mind."

"Fufu, thank you so much."

The girl sat down next to me with her bento. She then looked towards me with a warm smile, something I haven't received from my other classmates since I first came here. It felt pretty good actually.

"Your name is (Y/N) (L/N)-kun? The new student that transferred here?" She asked with curiosity.

"Yeah, that's me."

"Well, it's nice to meet you. My name is Matsubara Kanon, but you can call me Kanon, okay?" She requested as she introduced herself to me.

"Okay, nice to meet you, Kanon."

"Do you... want to be friends with me?" Kanon asked in the sweetest voice I had ever heard.

"Yeah, I would like that very much."

That was the first friend I have ever made. To this day, she and I are still close. However, that's when things began to change.

Hi there, my name is (Y/N) (L/N). When I was little, I was very shy and didn't have a lot of friends. However, all of that changed when I met my best friend in the world, Matsubara Kanon, who is now the drummer of Hello, Happy World!.

Am I still shy now? Yes, I am. But Kanon is shy too, so there's that. However, it wasn't until we were both older that I was feeling more shy and usual. This time, I was starting to act shy around Kanon.

The weekend...

Location - Residential Area

It all started on a normal weekend. It was close to the holidays, and I was walking Kanon back home after she had another round of rehearsals with her band.

"Looks like Hello, Happy World! is ready to go for their next show." I said.

"Yeah. I know Kokoro-chan has been wanting to try out this new song for a while now." Kanon said.

"That does sound like her." I chuckled.

As Kanon and I kept walking towards her place, the drummer began to trip suddenly.

"Fueeee!"

I acted quickly and caught her in my arms before her head could hit the ground.

"Kanon! Are you okay?!" I asked as I still have her in my arms.
