Even in the darkest caves light can appear. A feeling, had brought back consciousness. The being opened his eyelids and was blinded by a light. It wasn't a familiar light, but for the first time it felt comfortable. After the beings eyes had adjusted, he looked around to see where he was. "Hey! You're awake!" Said a feminine voice. The being looked over to the source of the voice and saw a woman with gray hair and green eyes. Behind her was a boy who looked identical to her. "Hello. My name's Asta." "And my name is Licita. As you can see, you're in our home." The being stared blankly at the woman. He then looked over to the boy who kept hugging his mothers leg. Licita had noticed that the being was still confused to what was happening. "You're probably wondering how I took you here." Licita grabbed a bottle and opened it to take out a large bunch of sticks. "And this is my magic. As long as it lacks mana, I can put it in and out of other things. You don't have mana just like my son, and that's how I brought you here." Asta decided to approach the being to get a little closer, but Licita had stopped him. "It's a little surprising though. A couple of days ago I found a grimoire with a five leaf clover. Maybe that superstition is true? You're a devil right?" She asked. "...Y-you're not afraid of me?" The devil asked. Licita laughed when hearing that. "Why would I be afraid of a small child? Especially one that's injured like you. You're all small and you don't have magic, so there's no way you can be a threat. As a matter of fact, I bet I'm more loathed then you." A snake had slithered down and immediately dropped to the floor. "Wow cool a snake!" Asta shouted. The boy tried reaching for the snake, but was picked up my his mother. "How many times do I have to tell you to not play with snakes?" "I forgot." The boy answered. Licita sighed and kept ahold of her son. "Anyways. I've got this body that steals magic and life from whatever's near me. That's why we live on the outskirts of the village. For some reason my son isn't affected, maybe it's because he developed an immunity of some sort. You however, I think since you're a devil it doesn't work on you or something." Licita said. The devil only stared back and didn't know what to say. Two humans who weren't scared of him? This was completely unreal to him. "Doesn't this kinda seem like fate? Me and my son are pretty lonely over here, why not be my kid?" Licita asked. The devil widened his eyes in surprise, being a humans child? "Does that mean I'll have a brother?" Asta asked. "If he agrees, then yes." Licita answered. The woman looked towards the devil to hear his response, but something had popped up in her mind and she couldn't help but ask. "Say.. what's you're name?" "I don't have one." The devil answered. "From now on your name is Liebe." The devil accidentally escaped a smile. "Liebe. I like that name." Said the newly named devil. "Will you be my brother Liebe?" Asta asked. Liebe was already experiencing something new, he liked the feeling. "Maybe these humans will be good." He thought. "Yes." Liebe said. "Yay!" Shouted Asta. "Welcome to the family Liebe, I just finished making dinner and now you can eat with us as a family." Licita said.
Liebe had stared at his plate of food. He looked over at his new brother and then glanced at his new mother. Having anyone treat him normally felt strange, but it also felt nice. Liebe had no idea what this feeling was, but he knew those two were the cause of this nice feeling. Licita noticed that Liebe hadn't even taken a bite from his food. "Is the food not to your liking?" She asked. "I don't know how to eat." Liebe said. Asta looked over to his new brother and gave him a confused look. "Whrm dmm yomm meen?" The boy said with a mouthful of food. "What?" Liebe asked. "Ignore him. I should have known you might need help, so let me help you." Licita got up from her chair and went behind Liebe. She took his right hand and placed it on the fork. "You pick this up and just pick the food up with it. It is fish, so you might need to use the knife as well." Licita picked up the knife from the other side of Liebes plate and placed it in his left hand. "Just stab the fish and cut it with the knife. Be careful of the bones, you don't want to accidentally swallow that." She said. "Umm. Okay." Liebe said. Licita went back to her seat and continued eating. Liebe began to use his new knowledge and ate for the first time. He placed a piece of fish into his mouth and slowly began to chew. The creamy texture and the somewhat salty seasoning left his tastebuds dancing. The devil picked up his pace and began to eat as quickly as his brother. Asta looked over to Liebe and saw it as a challenge. "I'll eat faster than you." Said Asta beginning to eat at a faster pace. Liebe said nothing and only ate. Licita looked at the two children and couldn't help but smile. "Make sure not to choke." She said.
