The next morning I wake up and then take a quick shower. I then go to thr cafeteria and look for my friends.
Zeke-missing
Shauna-missing
Lauren- missing
Eric- here
Crap.
I walk over to the table, avoiding Eric, and grab a muffin, hoping he wont see me. He sees me, but right as he starts walking up to me one of his jerky friends catches up to him and starts talking about something.
I have an hour and a half until the innitates arrive, so I have to get ready. I go into the training room to pair up the initates.
I realize that there is an odd number, so someone won't have a partner.
My mind instantly thinks: Tris. I guess I won't have her fight, mostly because I cant stand to see her hurt.
GOSSSSG I REALLY HAVE TO STOP THINNIQNG ABOUT HER!
Once I've finished pairing up the initates my list looks like this:
Al- Will
Christina- Molly
Peter- Edward
Drew- Myra
Tris-
After a few more minutes, they all start coming in.
"Since there is an odd number of you, one of you won't be fighting today." I say, greeting them. I see Tris notice that she's the one who isn't going to be fighting, and she instantly seems calmer.
Christina says something to Tris, nudging her shoulder. She seems to wince in pain. I hope she isn't hurt. Not like I care or anything, though......
I walk over to the board to remind myself who is first. Will and Al. Right.
"First up, Will and Al!" I yell.
The move slowly into the arena. Al is going to win this. He is so much bigger than Will, even if Will dosent wasn't to admit it.
They start slowly circling each other, not actually fighting. Eric is just a few feet away from me, looking as if he about to yell something. Great. Scolding someone for not wanting to beat someone up...
"Do you think this is a leisure activity? Should we break for nap-time? FIGHT EACH OTHER!" He yells.
"It ends when one of you is unable to continue" Eric says.
" According to Dauntless rules one of you can also concede." I say.
"According to the old rules. According to the new rules, no-one concedes." Eric says.
The old rules? You mean those shitty rules he invented?
"A brave man acknowledges the strength of others." I say. That's what I truly believe.
"A brave man never surrenders."
"Lucky for you, those weren't the rules when we fought." I say quietly. No one else hears, but it's clear Eric did, his face becoming contorted with anged.
"Oh, you think it's going to be that easy? Try to hit me slowpoke." Will says, trying to intimidate Al.
Will starts dodging Al. He's surprisingly fast, maybe he actually has a chance...
Nevermind.
Al catches up to Will and punches him in the jaw. Wil falls on the floor, out of Al's grasp. Will, still lying on the floor, blinks once but then closes his eyes, mentally in another world.
"Get him up! Next up- Molly and Christina" Eric shouts.
I walk over to Will and try to stand him up, supporting him by the waist. We head to the infirmary, leaving Eric alone with the initiates. Probably not the best idea.
When we get to the infirmary the receptionist stands up and nods, understanding why Will is here.
"I'll take him from here." She says, leading Will to a hospital room.
I start to head back to the training room.
When I get there I realize something is wrong.
There
Initates
Are
Missing.
All of them!
Eric probably tricked them into standing in front of a train or something.
Eric comes in a minute later without any if the initiates.
"Did you kill them?" I ask.
"No, I just dismissed them, that's all." He answers.
"After?"
"After what?"he asks, playing dumb.
"You know what! What did you do to them?"
"Oh, nothing. I just taught one of them a little... lesson, shall we say."
A lesson?
What does that mean?
And one of them?
What if it was Tris?
He better not have hurt Tris.
