A day later, they arrived at Colin's house the day before and decided to rest after their long flight. When they woke up, Peter, Brett, Cassandra, and Stephanie sat Katherine down and before Colin left with Kathleen and Alexandra, Colin wished them luck on breaking down the news to her. "So, what's this all about?" Katherine asked her friends. "Well, Katherine...you know we love you." Cassandra starts. "And I love you guys, too," Katherine says. "So, you know that we would never do anything if it wasn't for a good reason," Stephanie says. Katherine nods, trying to understand what they were saying. "What the girls are trying to say is that we sort of maybe took your phone," Peter says hesitantly. "May I ask why?" Katherine says with a little hurt in her voice. "We wanted to know what you were hiding," Brett explains, then Katherine scoffs, leaning back onto the couch. "You've been keeping secrets and sneaking around and as your friends we're concerned." Peter states. "Wait a minute, how did you know I was sneaking around?" Katherine asked suspiciously while the 4 of them exchanged looks. Katherine gets up and starts talking in a louder tone. "Where You Guys Spying On Me? Are You Serious?" Peter stands up. "...Yes, we were, but we wouldn't have had to if you had just been a little more honest with us. We're your best friends. You know you can tell us anything." Peter says. "Yeah Katherine, we're always going to be here for you and I see no reason for you to be sneaking around and keeping secrets from us." Brett states. Katherine takes a deep breath. "How much of my conversation with Aaron did you hear?" Katherine asked." Not a lot." Peter says. "What did you see on my phone and can I have it back?" Katherine asked, surprisingly calm. Peter hands Katherine her phone then answers her question. "We didn't look at your phone because we knew we would feel even more guilty than we do now." Katherine takes her phone and goes upstairs to her bedroom and locks the door behind her.
A few hours later, Katherine has left the house without her brother, friends, or kids knowing that she left, but before she left she grabbed the keys to the motorcycle her brother bought for her birthday and drove to the beach. Katherine decided to watch the sunset, on a hill near the ocean to think. 'They didn't do it on purpose. Well they did do it on purpose, but for a reason.' Katherine thinks to herself while sitting on the edge of a cliff.
Not far from where Katherine was sitting, two men were spying on her, but also listening in on the call she was just about to make. Katherine dials a number and starts talking to the person and when the two men heard the word "Aaron" come out of her mouth, 1 of them shoot Katherine with a dart and knocks her out. All of a sudden a black and red portal opens near Katherine and one of them picks her up and throws her into the portal and then the two men start talking.
"So, how much longer do you think it'll take for Aaron to realize that she's dead?" The 1st man asked his friend. "I'd say give it a day or 2. I took this off of her corpse and we can leave here so it makes it look like she fell off the cliff." The 2nd man said, holding up Katherine's ring.
Aaron could sense that something was off about his call with his adoptive daughter and decided to go and pay her a visit, knowing she'd be at the beach near her brother's house. Once he got there, the first thing he noticed was her motorcycle in the parking lot. He scans the empty beach for Katherine, then notices something shiny on the cliff. Aaron follows the path up the cliff and, then notices Katherine's ring and next to it a vile of blood with a note that says the following:
"To Aaron,
Your beloved Katherine has been sent to 'The Land of Unfinished Business'. Don't even think about trying to find her there because you never will, but don't worry we were kind enough to leave you her ring and blood. You won't ever see her again. Sorry, but my job comes before you and your loved ones. I don't want to end up like my brother. Katherine is in a better place now and don't worry I'll make sure nothing bad happens to her.
