Chapter 7: Welcome to the Land of Unfinished Business

Katherine wakes up in a full-size bed, dressed in a black nightgown. She looks around the room she was in and notices 3 other beds. Katherine gets up and sees a pair of clothes laid across her bed with a note.

'To Brunette

We laid out a pair of clothes for you. Your belongings are all in the white bag on the desk. We're all downstairs if you need us. Don't be afraid to come and talk to us and feel free to ask us any questions.

Katherine gets up and walks over to the bathroom and changes into her outfit, then checks out what was in the bag they left for her. It was a large, white duffle bag that contained a few clothes, toiletries, a phone, a small purse, and a key. Katherine decides to look at what's on the phone and finds a few names in her contacts list. Rhett, Phoenix, and Melissa. Katherine walks downstairs and notices two white-haired people, a boy and a girl, sitting on the couch watching a movie. "Um, Hello?" Katherine inquired. The attention of the boy and girl turn towards Katherine. "Oh, we didn't hear you wake up." The boy says pausing the movie. "How'd you sleep?" The girl asked. "Uh fine, I guess, but can 1 of you tell me where I am?" Katherine says, a little anxious. "You're in The Land of Unfinished Business." A voice from the kitchen says. "We totally forgot to introduce ourselves. I'm Rhett, this is Melissa, and the man of few words is Phoenix." The boy next to Melissa says. "It's nice to meet all of you. I'm Katherine." Katherine says. "Hello Katherine, well you're probably wondering who we are and how you got here." Melissa says.

"Yeah." Katherine says hesitantly.

"Well, technically we're kind of family now and you're here because you were chosen to be here and have unfinished business with someone. We all sleep in the same room as you saw when you woke up and don't worry everything is not as bad as it sounds. In fact, it's actually pretty great here. You'll love the town." Melissa finishes. "Yeah, we could take you there, if you'd like." Rhett says. "Sure, I guess." Katherine says. "What about her hair?" Rhett says, looking at Katherine's brunette hair. "Well, we should've gone over the rules and requirements." Melissa states. "Right. Do you want to go over them with her? I need to go grab a few things for us." Rhett says, putting on his jacket. "Bye Rhett." Phoenix says, sitting on the couch. "Bye." Katherine and Melissa say at the same time. Melissa tugs on her hair a little. "So, I should probably tell you the rules and requirements, before we head outside." Melissa states. "Yeah." Katherine hesitates. "I can tell you're nervous. I just want to let you know that we're some pretty chill people. In fact, the meanest person in the household is Melissa and she's not even that mean most of the time. So, it's okay to be nervous I mean you literally met us like 5 minutes ago, but we're not the kind of people that solve things in... aggressive ways. We use our words." Phoenix explains.

"Phoenix is right, I am the meanest out of all of us. Anyways, let's go over these rules. Nix, can you get the rule book?" Melissa inquired, while Phoenix raised a brow. "Please?" Melissa asks. "There it is." Phoenix teases and hands her the rule book.

Melissa opens the book to page 3.

Rule 1: Lights out by 11PM Mon-Fri.

Rule 2: Be respectful to housemates.

Rule 3: Housemates must not have any more than 4 people per house.

Rule 4: Wild animals are prohibited.

Rule 5: Houses and Apartments are to be clean at all times.

Requirement 1: EVERYONE is to have White or Blonde hair.

Requirement 2: Everyone over the age of 10 is to have a phone with the names of everyone living with them.

Requirement 3: Every new resident is to meet with Chloe at town hall within the first 48 hours they arrive.

Requirement 4: Each resident is to have a job within the household or in the town.

Requirement 5: Every resident is not to be seen without a necklace given by Chloe.

"So, is it okay if I dye your hair?" Melissa asked. "Of course." Katherine says sitting in a chair. "Which color do you want? White or Light Blonde?" Melissa inquired, grabbing both bottles of hair dye. "Light Blonde." Katherine answers. "Great choice." Melissa says, putting down the white dye. Melissa starts to dye Katherine's hair a very light blonde color, after that she styles her hair into a hair up half down ponytail.

"Now, I have to ask...Do you know who you have unfinished business with?" Melissa asks, sitting next to Katherine. "I'm not sure actually." Katherine says. "We can help you find out who you have unfinished business with, but only if that's what you want." Melissa says. "You know, I think I actually might like it here."
