I had just finished eating dinner so I could get ready for my shift tonight at Fuoco Lento when Amar came into the living room and turned the television on. "Did you hear about this?" He looked over the back of the couch towards the kitchen to ask me. "No. What is it?" I wasn't paying much attention as I put away the clean pan I'd used to cook my food, and the dish I'd just washed with it.
"Yesterday they found a mass grave hidden in some plot of woods. No news on how many bodies were actually found, but they think it's connected to, like, the mob" Amar spoke over his shoulder while still watching the news in front of him.
"The mob? Does that stuff still exist?" I was surprised. I thought that was something like a movie. I know they used to exist, but if they did now wouldn't we hear a lot more about it?
I walked into the living room and watched the tv screen. A woman in a bob haircut was holding a long microphone and standing in front of yellow police tape which blocked off the crime scene.
"We don't yet know why it is suspected to be involved within organized crime, but sources tell us, 'this could be big' for ongoing investigations that have never been solved over a span of a decade. Later today we will be hearing from the chief of police in Boston where they'll make an official statement surrounding this week's major case."
"That's crazy" I shook my head. "Can you imagine finding something like that? It could be a serial killer, but if they already have an idea of who is responsible for that then they clearly know something we don't. It's interesting. I used to watch mafia movies all the time. I love them" Amar chuckled.
"I don't think I ever really have" I thought back to things I've watched. It's never been of interest to me, so I doubt I have. "We'll have to do a movie night and watch some of the best ones. I know them all" he told me.
I glanced at the time and told him I had to start getting ready for work. I won't lie and say I wasn't spooked after that masterbation incident.
When I'd gotten home that night I let myself cry a little, but in the privacy of my room, just to release all that pent up stress and emotions. Renzo promised me that man wouldn't ever step foot back in there and I believe him.
The way Renzo beat that man I don't think anyone who bore witness to it would try pulling something like that again.

The girls had actually been sympathetic with me last night on my shift back from disappearing with Renzo the night before that. I thought they would stick their noses up at me, but I guess they band together in solidarity when a woman in their industry gets disrespected or assaulted. They all had stories to tell about incidents they've been involved in in the past.
A lot of the girls danced elsewhere until they were hired here. They said there are far less incidents in a classy establishment like this one, but at the end of the day it is a place where wealthy men go to live out their fantasies and gain the attention of gorgeous women so far out of their league.
A few of the names that stuck with me when I met the girls and formally introduced myself last night were Pandora, Sapphire, Rebel, and Vivica. Dallas and Teagan were both also there, but I have already met them.
Some of these girls are characters.
Pandora was an Asian woman with a rounder face and longer legs than most of the girls working last night. She's apparently very skilled on the pole, though I've never seen it for myself. She told me, "They call me Pandora because this box brings total chaos to the men who open it" and cupped her own mound right in front of me.
