She's with Us Always

Quarantine is over and us actors and performers are starting to get to normal instead of zoom interviews and auditions we're going back to being on set whilst taking every precaution and doing in person interviews again which is where I am tonight at the Stephen Colbert Show. Andrew is also joining me as we're talking about the movie we did together which got delayed due to covid but he's also promoting Tick Tick Boom. Both our dads are here along with Andrew's brother and we have Atlas in the audience with his new baby sister.

Andrew goes on first and he talks about Tick Tick Boom and has fun talking about his brother and his work as a doctor and their childhood before Stephen begins to introduce me "My next guest is a Tony Award winning actress who stars alongside Andrew in their new movie Find Me and she just so happens to also be his wife in real life and I'm honored to call her a friend please welcome Aurora Garfield everyone" he says and I come out and we hug and exchange cheek kisses and I wave to the audience and at Atlas and his sister blowing them kisses before I sit down beside Andrew.

"I have to say you look better in a suit than Andrew. No offense I mean you look better than me in a suit" he says and they laugh "No offence taken I'm well aware that she's out of my league she looks stunning" Andrew says "Thank you it's nice to wear something other than sweatpants and tshirts covered in spit up" I say "That's right you have a daughter now your kids are both in the audience. How old is Atlas and what's the newest addition to the Garfield household name" he says "Atlas is a little over a year old now and our daughters name is Astrid and she's three months old" Andrew says "Congratulations. I see we've stuck with the A name and another unusual name" he says "Yeah when we found out we were pregnant again and it was a girl every name we came up with was an A name but again her name has meaning behind it as does her middle name and I think unusual names is gonna be our thing if we have more kids" I say "I love your announcement post for the pregnancy the tshirt was just perfect for it. Did you plan it like that" he says "I think someone sent it to me whilst I was pregnant with Atlas but we didn't announce it like we did with Astrid and Andrew knew at that point so I saved it and ordered it once I knew I was pregnant again" I say "Can you see their personalities showing. Like is one more like you or Aurora" he says "Atlas looks like me he has my eyes and dark hair but he has taken after Aura early riser loves music very inquisitive he loves to explore" Andrew says "And Astrid looks like me she's a blondie with green eyes and loves her sleep like Andrew and I think she'll have the same passion for whatever she does that Andrew does but she's still young so we'll see" I say "Well let's hope Atlas takes after Andrew and not his Uncle and grandfather in the hair department" he says and everyone laughs and we go to commercial.

We come back and begin talking about our movie "People wanted you guys to work together for years now and you waited until you had a child to do so what took so long" he says "I'm not sure why we waited time I guess we both had such busy schedules throughout the years and nothing stood out for us until this. It showed both our individual talents but also our combined talents we have this familiarity that's rare beyond our romantic relationship which I think shows during this" I say "I agree we know each others quirks and mannerisms and how to bounce off each other which makes for an amazing filming experience" Andrew says "This is very much a passion project for us our friend wrote it another one directed it everyone on this film are friends of ours which means more to us" I say "I love the story of this and you two are amazing in this. I spoke with Andrew earlier about his mom and her passing and he shared some amazing words about her and I know you had quite a close bond with her and I know it must of been tough knowing she wouldn't get to meet her granddaughter" he says and Andrew squeezes my hand "It was when I was pregnant with Atlas she was convinced he would be a girl and he wasn't but she loved him so much and the time we had with her meant everything to us I'm happy she got to see us get married but she was with me when Astrid was born as was my mom and I know their both watching over their grandkids and talking about how right they were about Andrew and I getting together.
