Northern Star (Hiatus)

Chapter Eight

Hermione felt numb as her best friend placed a steaming cup of coco into her hands.
"Hermione" the raven haired man said softly "I know its hard" he said putting a blanket around the brunettes shoulders "but I need you to tell me what happened"
Hermione took a shaky breath, she had run out of tears twenty minutes ago and Harry had been sitting with her for nearly two hours.
Nodding she took a sip of her coco and sighed.
"I ... I had stayed late..." she started "only about thirty minutes or so, to finish a report I was working on." Harry nodded encouraging her and staying quiet. Had this been any other situation he'd have been smiling at the fact that once again Hermione Granger had stayed late to finish some work.
"When I came down the stairs... he..he was waiting for me." She took a shaky sip of her coco and calmed herself enough to keep going "I ... I stopped on the stairs... he.. he was pointing his wand at me and... and mine was... was in my bag so...." she gulped and Harry pat her shoulder lightly encouraging her to keep going "I ... I asked what was going on and he...he..." her voice trembled as she struggled to repeat what Ron had said "he...s-said I... I owe him... that he... he deser-deserved to.... to bend.... bend me over the desk and..... and hear.... hear me... sc-scream his n-n-name..." her body shook and she shakily drank a large gulp of her coco, the burn in her throat helping calm her down and remind her she was home, safe.
Harry's knuckles were white as he clenched his fists, his jaw tight as he tried to stay calm and let Hermione tell him what had happened.
"I...I ran" she stated "I ran back up to my office. I.. I couldn't get my wand out fast enough so I tried to put distance between us but..." she trembled and gulped before saying "he caught up to me. I... I didnt get the chance to get my wand and... he shoved me into my office." She was getting angry now the shock was wearing off slowly "he blasted everything off my desk and threw me down the way you... you saw in Draco's memory." She sighed running a hand through her hair "he kept saying I owed him. Because he was with me for years. Waited for me for years." She shook her head and blinked back angry tears
Harry nodded slowly and asked "and how did your office get blown up?"
Hermione nodded "When Draco distracted him and I was able to get to my wand. He blast Draco out of the room and locked my door but I had my wand by then so we..." she sighed "we duelled. He managed to disarm me and before he could do anything to me Draco blast the door in and got me out of there."
Harry nodded slowly and sighed "Thank you Hermione" he stood and got her a fresh coco before sitting with her again.
Hermione sipped her coco again and asked "do you need to ask Malfoy what happened?"
Harry nodded and said "I can ask him later"
Hermione shook her head "I'm ok Harry. You can go"
He hesitated but seeing she was serious he nodded slowly "Alright but if you need anything just send a patronus and I will come straight back"
Hermione nodded and gave him a small smile.
Harry sighed and apparated back to Malfoy Apothecary.

He'd had a feeling he'd find Draco Malfoy repairing his lawyers office, and he was right. The blonde man was inside Hermione's office using his wand to repair the damages done to her office furniture and resort all her paperwork.
"She ok Potter?" Draco asked without looking back from what he was doing.
Harry nodded "as ok as she can be"
Draco nodded and turned as the last of the papers slid into their place "I suppose you need to get my statement?"
Harry nodded saying "unless one of my colleagues got it"
Draco nodded "They did but I presume you still want a summary so you can have words with Weasel?"
Harry shook his head "actually Hermione gave me enough to do that"
Draco raised an eyebrow "she talked?"
Harry nodded
Draco was still mad Harry could see it in his eyes. "Did she tell you what the filth said to her when she was pinned beneath him?"
Harry frowned but before he could answer Draco exploded.
"THAT SUCK BASTARD SAID SHE OWED HIM! LIKE HER BODY WAS HIS PROPERTY!"
Harry simply nodded his own rage barely in check.
Draco ran a hand through his hair cursing "owe him for what? Saving his pathetic life several times over the years? He should owe her! And I'm not even talking about owing her sex just in general!"
Harry nodded and said quietly "You're right. Without Hermione both Ron and I would have been dead in our first year, and every year she continued to save our skins."
Draco sighed "I need a drink" he moved past Harry into his own office and called back "want one?"
Harry nodded following the blonde and calling "Make it a double"
The blonde poured his old enemy a drink and sat on the edge in his desk "So what's gonna be done about Weasel?"
Harry sighed "Well, he's gonna be charged for assault, tresspassing and possibly damage to property too"
Draco looked at Harry confused "I caused that explosion"
Harry nodded "yes but Ron made it necessary so it could be put as his fault. I highly doubt you'd blow up your own building just because you can"
Draco nodded taking a swig of his drink "You're right there" he sighed and shook his head "I should let Granger have a few days off give her time"
Harry shook his head "She'll tell you to sod off and come in to work anyway."
Draco chuckled and nodded "probably"
Harry sighed taking a swig of his drink and groaned annoyed "Why cant he just accept that he fucked up? I mean blaming her and then doing this?" Harry shook his head "Its like I dont even know him." He laughed adding "and to top it off I'm here sharing a drink with you and we hated each other for years"
Draco grinned nodding with his glass to his lips "The worlds lost its mind" he took a swig then added "for the record I dont hate you. I dont particularly like you but I dont hate you." He then added "anymore"
Harry chuckled "likewise."
He finished his drink and said "I better go do my report on all this." He pointed to Hermione's office "let me know if she is acting stranger than expected ok?"
Draco nodded finishing his own drink "Night Potter"
Harry nodded "Night Malfoy" with that he apparated home to tell his wife what happened.
With a sigh Draco put back up the wards and looked towards Hermione's office.
