Lies.

I lie, you lie, we all lie.
It's just a thing of human nature.
We all know this.
It could be a smile while you speak through your teeth, trying to hide your emotions.
It could be a little white lie,
"I don't know who's it is".
Or it could be something more serious,
"Where were you last night?"
"At Matt's house. You know this"
Lies. Lies. Lies.
"Really? Because I just ran into his girlfriend, she was with him all night"
"Oh"
Oh. That's how you know.
Their heart just sank.
Not because they feel guilt.
Not due to remorse for what they did.
But because they were caught.
Caught in a lie.
One they shouldn't have told.
One they know they shouldn't have told.
"Where were you?"
"With Cassandra"
With Cassandra. I should have known.
"Good for you. Get out"
"Get out?"
"Get. Out."
Get out.
Get out of my head,
my life,
my memories,
my thoughts.
Get. Out.
You don't belong here anymore.
This isn't your space to inhabit.
Get out.
