"You'll belong to me eventually" he says,
"You're mine"
"Only mine"
"I want only you"
your heart,
your mind,
your body,
your soul,
your life,
"are all mine".
I let the words sink in,
sweet on the outside,
but sting once settled.
Because as intoxicating as they are.
All I can hear is your voice,
"You're mine" you said.
Even though I was never really yours,
my heart still belongs to you.
And only you.
As much as I hate to admit it,
as much as I have to choke back tears,
as much as I destroy myself over you.
I've always been yours.
