Chapter 17: Finale

2 years later...

It was Cams 18th birthday and she was celebrating with her mom, sister, Vivian, and new girlfriend, Brianna. There was a Marvel cake, red, silver and gold balloons in honor of Tony Stark, and you had to dress up as a Marvel character.

Cam obviously went as Scarlett Witch and Brianna went as Vision. Vivian was Captain Marvel and her mom was Natasha Romanoff. Her sister Melissa was dressed as Yelena Bolova (chosen by Cam).

It may have seemed childish to have a themed birthday party for her 18th birthday but Cam loved Marvel and it made her happy. They watched a bunch of Marvel movies and made drawings of them. Near the end of the day, they started playing truth or dare.

"Truth or dare, Cam?" Asked Vivian

"Truth"

"Whatever happened with Shawn and Daniel?"

"Why would you ask me that? I don't- well I do but- can we not?"

"No, you have to answer it" said Melissa.

Cam rolled her eyes. "Fine. After they got arrested, my dad bailed them out. Well he tried to. Daniel got out free but Shawn still had to pay 2 years because he still technically kidnapped me. My dad got arrested because he faked it and I guess that pissed them off or something. Dad got out last year but he never came back to us. We threw him a welcome home party and everything but he was gone before we got there. We haven't seen him since"

It went silent for a bit until Brianna asked, "Shouldn't Shawn be out now?"

Cam didn't realize that. Even though it was all staged, she still felt queasy when she thought of Shawn and the fact that she felt so comfortable with him made her feel worse.

"It's ok. He doesn't know where we live" her mother said, reassuringly.

"Dad does. And they're friends. What if Shawn is mad at me and kidnaps me for real?"

"That can't happen. It wont" Vivian said.

"How would you know? It's a possibility! What if dad is mad at us and hunts us down. Or worse!"

"We will be ok, Cam" Melissa said.

"Excuse me" she said getting up and going to her room. She sat on the bed and tried to calm herself down. There was a knock on the door.

"Cam? It's Bri. Can I come in?"

"Come in," She opened the door and sat down next to her, resting her head on Cams shoulder.

"You'll be ok" she said quietly.

"How do you know that? I barely know him and he could do anything to me"

"He hasn't so far"

"Yea. So far. What will happen when he figures out where I live? What then?"

"Then you will come live with me"

"Can I just be alone right now?"

Bri looked surprised but remained calm. "Yeah. Sure" she walked out, shutting the door behind her.

She fell back onto her bed, hands over her eyes. Moments later, her phone buzzed. A text from an unknown number. She opened it.

Aww how sweet of her :) You're a very lucky girl, Cam. Dont waste her.

Cam threw her phone and looked out her windows, nobody was there. She looked around for a camera but there wasn't one. She looked at her closet and was about to check inside when she got another text.

You should be worried to see me, Cam. Who knows what would happen to you if I came back..

She dropped her phone and ran to the door. When she opened it, Shawn was standing there, smiling. His clothes were covered in blood and he held a hunting knife in his right hand, covered in blood.

Cam screamed at the top of her lungs. She screamed so loud that she lost her voice in one breath. Shawn took a step closer to her and she backed away.

"No point in wasting time.." He strengthened his grip on the the knife, holding it up to Cams chest. "Now that you're muted..."
