13 ~ A smile that fades

I lost my iPad charger but I finally found it- 😅

Forgive me but this will be an Angst chapter 😭💔

Mitsuri was doing the usual, eating mochi while watching the stars up in the sky glow. It was very late but she didn't really care to notice it.

"How pretty!" Mitsuri smiled as she finished off her last mochi. "I wonder what Shinobu is doing.. I can't wait to see her tomorrow." She got up and dusted herself off.

"Mm.. it's pretty late, I should head to bed." Mitsuri picked up her coat and went off back into her house.

[sigh] Mitsuri fell down on her bed, laying there peacefully. "Shinobu.." she smiled and slowly closed her eyes, most likely going to dream about Shinobu.

The following morning . . .

Before Mitsuri's alarm clock could go off she sprinted up from her bed.

"SHINOBUUU~!!" Mitsuri yelled so loud, the neighbors probably heard it in an instant..

"Yay! What should I give her!? Flowers? No.. a teddy bear!? No.. uh.. a.. A PUPPY!? Wait- never mind.. that's a BAD idea.. Shinobu hates dogs!" Mitsuri sighed.

Mitsuri panicked looking around for something to give Shinobu but couldn't really find anything.

"Ugh! Forget it, flowers and a teddy bear will do.." Mitsuri grabbed a teddy bear and flowers and ran down stairs.

Mitsuri finally finished getting all pretty, just to see Shinobu. "I can't wait to see her!~" Mitsuri skipped outside of her house and went looking for Shinobu.

"Hm.. where could she be.." Mitsuri rubbed the back of her neck, trying to think of where Shinobu would go.

Mitsuri heard Shinobu's voice out of nowhere. "Oh! I hear her, that means she must be near!~" Mitsuri sprinted off to follow the sound of her voice.

Of course.. that happiness.. faded rather quickly..

Both the flowers and teddy bear fell to the ground. It was a surprise to Mitsuri and she sure wasn't thrilled to see it either.

"Tomioka san~ stop ignoring me!" Shinobu was teasing Tomioka as always. She was hugging at Tomioka's waist so he wouldn't leave.

[sigh] Tomioka just stood there, giving up and letting Shinobu tease him as she wasn't going to stop either way.

It wasn't easy to tell if this was a misunderstanding or if it was what it looked like but Mitsuri saw different.

Tears began to flow, filling Mitsuri's eyes as her vision was cloudy now. It wasn't long before she couldn't control her emotions.

Mitsuri then stomped on the flowers until they were basically gone. The teddy bear, she picked it up and took it with her.

She ran off, trying to get away from the scene. She didn't want to see that. It broke her heart. Shinobu, she loved her but maybe Shinobu didn't feel the same way about her anymore.

Mitsuri sat on her couch and held onto the teddy bear tightly. "It wasn't meant to be? How could that be... I thought we loved each other.." Mitsuri sobbed and that was how she spent the rest of her day.
