!!Trigger warning, needles and eye stuff!!
(Y/N POV)
I stared at the mechanism in my hand and only stopped when I heard Silco clear his throat. "Is something wrong," he spoke through a smirk. I gulped an shook my head, "Not at all, sir." I made direct eye contact with him and I could see him growing impatient. I scooted closer to him on the edge of the desk and tried to line up the device with his eye. I think he saw my frustration because, with an amused expression, he said, "You may have to sit closer." He moved his hands out of his lap and spread his legs slightly. I felt my whole face burning and I stared at him again as I tried to comprehend what he was suggesting.
"Don't be shy, my dear... I won't bite..." His familiar velvety tone returned. I took a deep breath and stood up. I gently climbed on top of him and placed my legs on his. I could feel my heart racing, but I needed to get a hold of myself. I pulled myself together and took hold of his chin. He seemed shocked by my grip. I lined up the device and pulled the trigger. The needle plunged into his eye, leaving a small trickle of purple liquid falling out of his eye. His head shot back and his eyes grew wide as he cried in pain.
I tried to think of what I should do. I pulled a small cloth from my pocket and used it to dab away the Shimmer trailing down his cheek. He flinched away from my hand at first, but eventually let me clean him up. As I examined his face, I got the courage to ask, "A-Are you alright, sir?" He looked up at me with an expression I I understand. "I am fine, you may go now..." At that, I hastily got up and left the room.
~Time skip brought to you by Viktor's magical thigh~
That night I laid in bed tossing and turning. I couldn't get Silco's voice out of my head. Or the expressions he gave me. Silco was usually very stoic, he never showed emotion on his face. Today was different. He looked at me with more emotion than I'd ever seen him have. Why? He trusted me more than he trusted anyone. Aside from Jinx, of course. I could've easily killed him in that moment. That small moment of vulnerability could've been his end. He knew that. So why did he risk it?
I tossed and turned all night long. I probably only got a little over an hour of sleep. I woke up exhausted and irritated as I got up to change my clothes. I learned that if I showed more skin, I got more tips. Creepy, but I didn't care much anymore. I put on a red button-up shirt that I left unbuttoned down to my abdomen, with high-waisted black pants. I rolled up my sleeves and put on knee-high black boots with a bit of heel.
I put on a black overcoat with a hood and walked to The Last Drop. I didn't like people seeing my face in the streets. It wasn't like anyone knew who I was, but I found I was bothered less when I wore a hood or a mask.
I opened the door to the bar and walked behind the counter. I hung up my coat and said my usual greetings to the other bartenders. There weren't many people there yet, but that was soon to change. I noticed that the box of Shimmer was missing from under the counter. Shit. "Hey, Deirdre," I said to the bartender across the room, "Where the hell did the crate of Shimmer go?" She shrugged and continued talking to the customer she was next to.
At that moment, I let my anger take over me. I walked angrily over to her and slammed her head against the table. "I'll ask you again, you were here after me last night and before me this morning, now where the hell is it?" Her heard was still between my hand and the table. She started tearing up as a slight cut began to bleed on the side of her head. "I-I don't know," she cried, "Some guy came in and- and forced me to hand it over this morning, I couldn't see his face, but he had a gun, what the hell else was I supposed to do??" I pushed her head further into the table, "You were supposed to fight back, you idiot!" I slammed her head against the table again. "Y/N," I heard a voice say behind me. I spun around to meet Silco's gaze. Shit.
I let go of the poor girl and walked closer to Silco. "What is going on," he asked me calmly. "Your little pet here is off their rocker!" I turned to see Deirdre holding her bleeding head with a look of anger on her face. I growled and went to lunge at her, but Silco grabbed my arm. He looked at me for a moment before bringing me up to his office. I was in deep shit.
(A/N: I feel like this one wasn't as good, but hopefully it'll get better once I get more motivation like I did yesterday. Thank you all for reading :))
