Third person POV
Y/n stood in shock, lips slightly parted as they processed his words. "Darling" was a term they had never heard escape his lips. A term of endearment was never something you could hear in the presence of Silco. And yet here they were, inches apart, while he called them "darling." Y/n swallowed the butterflies creeping up their throat and donned a blank look. A poker face if you will. Silco smirked at their reaction. He knew them better than they would like to admit. "Something wrong, my dear?" His velvety tone sent shivers down Y/n's spine as they tried to keep their composure. With all the courage within them, they removed Silco's hand from their chin and shrugged off the encounter. "Nothing at all... am I getting paid, or what?" Their tone turned bitter as they tried desperately to change the subject. Silco chuckled and walked back to his seat behind his desk. He sat down carefully and unlocked the top drawer before pulling out a drawstring bag. A pleasantly heavy drawstring bag that gave a metallic "thud" when it hit the wood of his desk. Y/n grinned and snatched it. "Pleasure doing business with you, Silco." And with that, they walked out of the room with an extra bounce to their step. Their first purchase with this new money? A drink at the bar downstairs.
Y/n plopped down on a bar stool and signaled for the bartender. He shuffled over and asked them what they wished to drink. Y/n ordered their favorite drink and grinned to themself as they took in the events of the day. The earlier exchange upstairs with Silco had been... interesting to say the least, but overall they felt they had accomplished something. When their drink arrived, they took a large swig of it and winced slightly at the taste. It burned nicely on the way down. Just what they needed. Y/n figured they would get unpleasantly drunk and perhaps go to the... "facility" next door. They hadn't been there before, but now that they had a sack of gold, why not? As the drinks kept coming and disappearing down Y/n's throat, they began to think fo things they thought they had shoved away. They tried replacing the thoughts with thoughts of meeting someone at the brothel next door, but that someone always morphed.... into him. He who held their attention and affection like no other and had complete control over them. More control than they had prior awareness of. Perhaps he knew what he was doing. That bastard... that... Silco. He drove them mad. And they hadn't even realized it.
While Y/n had an existential crisis downstairs, Silco was having his own moment upstairs. The way Y/n had so easily pushed him away and strutted confidently out of the room left him without words. Their attitude had always been intriguing to him, but never had he felt such a strong desire for them because of it. He rested his head upon his knuckles. His mind wandered to thoughts he wished he could stow away. Silco, the king of the underground, was utterly infatuated. Was it infatuation or obsession? He could not tell. All he knew was he would do anything to get them to walk towards him with that confident bounce. Perhaps even sit on his desk. Directly in front of his chair. With him standing over them. "Fuck." He was in deep shit.
