(Y/n) walked the dingey streets of the undercity, the smell of pollution hitting their nostrils. While the air quality had increased drastically under Silco's "rule," there would forever be that twinge in the air. They could feel their heart beating almost as if it were going to jump right out and leave them behind. Did they really want to do this? Sure, they were particularly skilled and had gone through extra training for this particular moment, but would they have the stomach to go through with it? Yes. They had to. (Y/n) would not allow themself to let him down.

If everything went according to plan, perhaps Silco would even be proud of (Y/n). Why they craved his approval so much they couldn't be certain. Perhaps it was for the same reason they longed to tease him until he wore his signature grimace of annoyance. It was silly, but they didn't waste their time worrying about it. Tonight was about strength, about intelligence, and about kicking some Topsider ass.

(Y/n) sat in the shadows, a small black dagger in hand. With the help of Jinx, they had created a malicious toxin that burned away flesh with a single slice. While it wouldn't kill anyone with a mere slash, it would leave them begging for their life to end. (Y/n) intended to be merciful and fulfill this plea when the time came. They clenched their teeth in anticipation, their heart jumping every time footsteps were heard near the alley. Every voice sent their hand flying to the gun in the holster on their hip.

After minutes of patience and anticipation, the familiar metallic footsteps of Enforcers echoed through the street. (Y/n) waited for the perfect moment before they dashed out of the alley, slashing every weak point in the Enforcers' armor with their special knife. They were fast. Too fast for the Enforcers to comprehend what had happened. That was exactly how they wanted it. The men all fell to their knees in cries of pain. There were three of them, two wearing masks and one not. The one without the mask seemed... frightened. He must have been new to the force. Oh well. It didn't bother (Y/n).

"Well, well, looks like I caught myself a few lost Pilties... I thought you all would've learned by now it's best for you to stay on your side of the bridge. No matter. You'll learn your lesson the hard way I suppose." They chuckled to themself. "Look at you! Fish out of water in this vast desert of people who would rather kill you than make eye contact with you. So, what do you say little fishies, should I leave you here in agony or end your sorry little fishy lives?" (Y/n) knelt down with a mischievous glint in their eyes, hoping they would pick the latter option. However, the only response they received was more cries and groans of pain. They straightened back up and rolled their eyes. "Fine, I'll decide for you." Loud gunshots rang throughout the street, followed by the sound of metal-covered bodies hitting the ground.

There was a confusing feeling that began to crawl its way into (Y/n)'s heart. They felt guilty and yet... why did it feel good? They shook the feeling away and headed to The Last Drop. They pushed through the doors and marched up the stairs to Silco's office. While most Zaunites wouldn't care if they saw someone with blood spatters walking into the bar, Silco believed it was improper. They knocked on the door and recieved a mumbled "come in."

Silco sat hunched over stacks of paperwork on his desk. When he saw (Y/n), he straightened up. His back then rested against the velvety backing of his gilded chair. (Y/n) always believed he looked like a king on a throne. Silco looked them up and down before meeting their eyes. "You were... successful then?" (Y/n) nodded without expression. "Is there something wrong?" The question hit (Y/n) like a freight car. "Hmm? Oh, no, everything is- is- just great." Was all they managed to get out. Silco searched their face before speaking once more, "Come here." (Y/n) gulped down their fear and approached him. He gestured to the chair in front of his desk and they sat gently. "I never said killing them would be easy." (Y/n) frowned in confusion at his remark. "That's the thing... it was easy. I feel- is that bad?" A gravely chuckle escaped Silco's throat. "No," he responded, "It means you're good at your job." He sent a smirk their way and propped his head upon his now-clasped hands.

Silco stood and walked around to stand beside (Y/n). He reached down and placed his index finger under their chin. His thumb rested beneath their lips. A devilish smile crossed his face. "You did wonderfully, darling."
