Chapter 3

(Y/N POV)

I sat at that bar for hours. I was on my fourth glass of whiskey, not including the firey drink I had earlier. My headache was raging and my thoughts were running wild. Where the hell were they? I heard the door creak open and saw a flash of blue. "Powder?" I called out and got no response. I stood up and looked around. "Powder, is that you?" She peaked her head out from a doorway. The sight made my heart drop to my stomach. She was bleeding and dirty, and she looked like she had been crying for hours. I knelt down to the floor and held open my arms. She ran and jumped in my arms and held tightly to my neck. "Shhh," I whispered, "Tell me what happened."

She let go of my neck and looked up at me, tears forming in her sapphire eyes, "I-I didn't mean for it to happen- I just- I just wanted to help them- and now- now I ruined everything-" she wiped her eyes quickly, smearing her dirty cheeks further. I handed her the handkerchief I had given Vi earlier. "Where's your sister?" I asked carefully. That's when her expression changed from one of fear and sadness to one of anger. "Vi is NOT my sister anymore." My eyebrows shot up as she continued. "She left me... twice! I needed her, and she left! And now- now I don't have anyone... only him." I looked at her, "Who's 'him?' Where are the others?" She looked down and whispered, "Gone... now he's gonna take care of me..." She looked out the door and I followed her gaze. There was a figure outside the bar. "Powder, I don't know what this man promised you, but you can't trust him. Please, just stay here with me and we'll figure this out." She shook her head defiantly. "No, he's all I have now. I trust him." And with that, she ran out of the bar. I ran after her, but when i got outside and looked around, she was nowhere in sight. She was gone.
