Things get out of hand

*Time skip next day at school*
Athena POV

I weave through the crowded halls by myself for the first time in what feels like forever. Felicity usually walks me to class but she had a doctor's appointment today. On my way, I stop to use the bathroom and as I'm washing my hands someone bumps into me.

I mumble a quick, "Excuse me".

I look up to see who it is I ran into and my chest starts pounding as I lock eyes with none other than Bailey.

She smirks, "You should watch where you're going I could've gotten hurt".

I try to push my way past her but she puts one of her long legs out and trips me.

She fake gasps, "Oh no I'm so sorry, my mistake".

She offers me her hand to help me up and I ignore it and try to get up myself.

She scoffs, "You little bitch".

She slaps me hard and the impact causes me to fall.

"Don't you know that it's rude to refuse help, someone needs to teach you manners", she says glaring down at me.

Before I knew what was happening I was being dragged by my hair across the bathroom floor.

"Too bad your little guard dog isn't here to protect you today".

I let out a scream. She slaps and punches me a few times.  My head was ringing and I could feel the blood dripping from my nose. She quickly runs out of the bathroom knowing that my scream would probably attract people. I lay there for what felt like an eternity, slipping in and out of consciousness before I heard a voice.

"Are you ok", the voice asks.

I try to reply but all that comes out are mumbles.
I feel myself being lifted and I no longer try to understand what was happening. I finally let myself slip back into unconsciousness.

When I wake up I'm in the nurse's office.

"Hey sweetie, looks like you're finally awake how do you feel", a voice calls out to me.

"Like my head is about to explode", I groan.

I try to hoist myself up but I feel a sharp pain near my stomach.

"Be careful, it looks like your nose is fractured. You're gonna need to take a slow for a while"

I nod absently as I run through my memories trying to figure out exactly what happened and why I'm in the nurse's office.

"So obviously you need to go home, but I've tried calling both your parents and both of them said that they were too busy to pick you up even after telling them of the condition you're in".

Yup, sounds like my parents.

"Is there anyone else you know that can come pick you up", the nurse asks.

I rack my brain for a few seconds. I have no one that I could call. Except for Will but I don't want to be a burden.

"No", I reply softly.

"Come on sweetie, there has to be somebody, or else I'm gonna have to call an ambulance to take you home cause you can't stay at school in this state"

Fuck an ambulance is too expensive, and I know for a fact that my parents won't pay for it and I don't have that kind of money.

"There is one person", I reply slowly.

Will POV

Things at the diner are pretty slow. I was in the middle of making a fresh batch of coffee when my phone started to ring.
