Chapter 22

Jack

Elsa backed away from me, and I didn't turn around to look at her or to ask her why.

She doesn't believe me. And now she's leaving me.

She picked up her bag and some other stuff I didn't see before leaving the house. I sat there for what seemed like more than an hour and looked at the clock.

It was 8:50. I had a feeling she wouldn't come back in awhile. I gripped my phone and walked upstairs. I went into our bedroom and changed into something more comfortable.

I sat on the bed, and went on my phone. I had a whole bunch of notifications and links to websites.

I went on Twitter and saw a hashtag was forming.

Actor Jackson Roberts caught cheating on actress Elsa Summers with another actress Rapunzel Calisto? #jelsaisover

I scrolled through the hashtag, and saw pictures of me and Rapunzel and hateful comments.

I huffed and exited out of Twitter. I turned off my phone and turned off the lights.

The familiar and comfortable scent of Elsa was no longer next to me, and it made my eyes water knowing that I won't be able to smell it anymore.

I went into the closet and grabbed a stuffed animal that Elsa always sleeps with whenever I'm not with her whenever she feels tired. It was a bear, a simple one that she loved so much.

I went back to the bed and lied down again, holding the bear close to me underneath the blanket.

It's usually way too early for me to fall asleep. But today, I'm just exhausted.

I let myself drift off into sleep, wanting to be able to hold Elsa close to me.

Elsa

Dad stared at me, anger filling his eyes.

"What are you talking about?" He asked and I felt mom grip my shoulders.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about! Paying Jack to cheat on me with Rapunzel so I'd break up with him and come back to you guys!" I said, calming down slightly.

"I'm only trying to protect you, Elsa! Jack can't be trusted!" He protested and I scoffed.

"What do you mean he can't be trusted? He's been doing what you would tell him to do since 7 months ago! You're saying that you're trying to protect me? You think this is a good thing to do as a father? Well it's not! I'm grown enough to take care of myself!" I said and mom sighed.

"I love you, Elsa. I don't want you to get hurt! Especially since he hurt you in the past!" He replied.

"If you really love me, you'd let me do whatever I want. I'm responsible. He may have hurt me in the past. But he changed. He changed. And so have you. You went from a caring dad to a careless dad."

I pulled out the envelope and letter and placed it next to the paycheck.

"What happened to you? You lied to me. You forced Jack to lie to me because you threatened him. You're the one who can't be trusted. Not Jack." I continued.

"Elsa," He started but I cut him off.

"No! Dad you're too protective! I love you. But what you've kept from me is just, unbelievable. You're the reason why I yelled at Jack, and why he is probably sleeping with tears staining his cheeks. I am going back to his house. And I'm staying there. Whether you like it or not. Go ahead and ruin our careers. I just need him in order to be happy." I said and mom tried to stop be as I put the papers back in my bag before walking to the front door.
