Diana POV

Fuck.

I quickly press the button to my floor and wait impatiently as I lean my head against the wall of the metal death trap.

I close my eyes and try to distract myself from the fear bubbling inside.

Instead, I focus on the time.

I woke up late, causing me to be in a massive rush this morning.

Shit. Did I turn off the oven?

My eyes open at the sound of the elevator doors opening, and I step out and quickly walk over to my desk. I place my handbag down, before walking over to his office.

"Morning, sir" I greet as I step into his office.

Alexander is standing in front of the filing cabinet, flicking through files as his face is turned away from me.

"Good morning. Would you mind running down to Ms.Haver's office on floor fifty-five and asking her for last month's data file?" He asks, and I nod, forgetting he can't see me.

"Of course, sir," I say before walking out of his office towards the elevator.

I go down to floor fifty-five, and I'm thankful to find her office right away.

I knock on her office door and wait patiently for a few mere seconds before the door is swung open, revealing a middle-aged woman in a nice red blouse.

"I'm here for last month's data file. Mr.Hendrix requested for it" I explain, and she scoffs as she looks me up and down.

"So it's true? You're his new assistant then?" The woman asks, and I shoot her a confused look.

"For the time being; yes" I answer, and she nods.

"Nearly five years that man has been in charge. And never once has he had an assistant. Wonder why you changed his mind" She sighed before walking into her office.

It was a simple statement, yet I couldn't help but feel her words had a harsher intent.

She walked back with a paper file folder in hand and held it out for me. I grabbed it, only she wouldn't let go.

I shot her a confused look, but she simply stared at me with a smirk.

The fuck.

"Is there a problem Ms.Haller?" I ask, and her smirk fades a bit. "It's Haver" She corrects, letting go of the file and I smile.

"Okay," I say before turning around and walking away, feeling her glare daggers at the back of my head.

What the hell was her problem?

Was purposely saying her name wrong a bit too unprofessional?

Probably.

I go back up go to our floor, and walk into his office. "There you go sir" I smile as I walk over to him. He's now sitting at his desk on his computer, but he turns to me as I place the file on his desk.

I hear him curse as I turn to leave, and I look at him concerned.

"Is everything okay, sir?" I ask as he stands up from his desk chair. He walks around his desk and comes towards me.

"What are you doing?" I ask him once he stops right in front of me.

He reaches both hands up to my shirt, and I look down to see the top three buttons of my shirt are open, exposing the top of my bra, as well as showing off a bit of my chest.

"Shit," I mumble, as my face heats up immediately from the number of people who probably saw me, and judged me.

Alexander begins buttoning up my shirt, while I stand there wishing the earth would open and swallow me up.

My heart raced at how close we're standing, and his minty breath fanned against my face. I couldn't help but look at his face that had a look of pure concentration on it.

I feel his hands pull away from me, and his eyes look up, locking with mine. "Thank you," I tell him after a few seconds of us standing in silence.

He hums in response, and I fight the urge to look at his lips.

Don't do it.

Don't fucking do it, Diana.

A little glance never hurt.

My eyes flicker down to his lips, and I simultaneously wet mine as I look back up at his eyes. His eyes are glued to my lips, and when I let out a breath, his eyes snapped back up to mine, and they somehow seemed to be darker than before.

I fight the urge to look away under his intense gaze, as we continue to stare at each other. I get lost in his eyes, and before I know it we're both leaning in slowly until his lips are hovering over my own.

My breath hitches when I feel his hands rest on my hips. His lips tease mine, lightly grazing over them but never fully kissing me

This is wrong.

"I have a boyfriend" I mumble suddenly, but he doesnt move away like I had hoped.

"Then walk away" Alexander whispers, his voice causing goosebumps to form on my arms.

How does his voice alone cause my body to have such a reaction?

Unable to muster up the strength to move away, I stay put, causing the corner of his lips to slightly pull up into a smirk.

This is wrong.

Yet when I feel his lips lightly graze over mine again, I couldn't care less about right or wrong.

Suddenly, the phone on his desk begins to ring, but neither of us makes a move to pull away.

"You should probably answer that, sir" I tell him, intending to speak normally but instead it comes out as a low whisper.

"I should, shouldn't I?" Alexander answers, matching my quiet tone.

After another few seconds of us standing there, I look away from his captivating eyes and take a step back.

His hands drop from my hips, and I can't help but wish for him to touch me again. Shaking off these absurd thoughts, I nod at him before turning and heading out of the office.

When I turn to close the double doors, I lock eyes with his as he stands in front of his desk on the phone.

Feeling awkward under his gaze, I quickly close the doors,  before groaning.

What the fuck is wrong with me?
