Alexander's POV
I groan, running a hand through my hair as I stare at the multiple emails I have to read and reply to.
I lean back in my chair, bored.
This is all Diana's fault.
Before her, work never bothered me. Now? I dread it because I have to be away from her.
Yes, she is in the room right outside my office, but still. Thats too far away.
And worse? She's not here today. She wasn't feeling well so I told her to stay home.
She, of course, protested. Which is weird. When your boss tells you to stay home, take the offer with a smile and go back to bed.
It's half five right now, and its beginning to get dark. I'll be here for at least another three hours. What motivates me is the quicker I get it done, the quicker I can go home to Diana.
I wonder is she feeling any better?
I should text her.
Where the fuck is my phone?
I groan when I realise I left it in my car. I get up, walking to the elevator with a scowl on my face.
The doors open, and I step inside them, pressing the button to the first floor.
The doors close, and I lean against the wall as it begins to move down.
I think back to the day I first met Diana.
I was leaving work, and was talking to some annoying asshole on the phone. I was distacted and went to the wrong elevator; the public one.
To think if I had paid attention more and went to the right one, I wouldn't of met the love of my life.
I dont like that thought.
The doors open, and I walk out, going to the doors. I go to the car park, spotting my car almost immediately.
Sure enough, my phone is on the passenger seat. I open the door, grabbing it and seeing multiple texts from Diana asking how my days going. Stuff like that. I frown at the thought she might think I'm ignoring her.
Dont be stupid. She knows I'm too obsessed with her to ignore her.
Closing my car door, I shove my phone in the pocket of my dress pants.
Walking around my car, I stop, confused, when I see Robin Russo standing there. CEO of Russo Law Firm.
"Alexander" She smiles. "Ms Russo, we have no meeting scheduled. What are you doing here?" I ask, masking the dread on my face well.
I hate this women. No, I loath her.
She's annoying, irritating. Her laugh sounds like nails scrapping on a chalk board. And she can never take the hint that I dont like her.
"You can call me Robyn" She says, taking a step towards me.
"Ms Russo, answer my question" I tell her, and her smile drops.
Good. The piece of spinach stuck between her teeth was unpleasant to look at.
"I came to talk" She says. "You can talk to me from over there" I tell her, and she smirks, continuing to step towards me.
I take a step back, and my back hits against some car. Fucking perfect.
She suddenly trips, and I grab her, my hands landing on her hips so she doesnt fall. The last thing I want to hear right now is her crying if she falls.
