Chapter 9: Latenight Conversation

Zero got home half an hour later, entering the house, he walked into his room.

He took a long, relaxing shower, got dressed and played his game a few minutes after.

After some time, Zero heard the rumble of Bella's abomination another half an hour later, standing up he walked to the living room and greated the awkward father and daughter pair.

"Your back." Zero looked closely at Bella and saw that she was far into her thoughts.

Charlie laughed lightly and spoke with a small smile. "Mhmmm, took a bit of time but we survived."

Zero nodded and turned to Bella, waving his hand in front of her face he spoke. "What's on your mind?"

Bella's head shot up as she jumped, having been startled out of her thoughts about a certain someone. "N-nothinng much, just thinking about what I'm going to cook tonight."

"Uh huh." Zero gave her a look that said 'I don't believe a single word flying out of your mouth', Bella looked offended but knew she had been caught.

After a brief conversation between himself, Bella and Charlie, he climbed up the stairs and to his room, waiting for dinner.

Zero sat at the dinner table with Bella and his dad, eating in silence as he listened to the short conversations between the two.

'Uh, I wonder how Charlie could have married Rénée with his awkward personality.' Zero shook his head mentally.

"So, how was your day before the accident?" Charlie asked after a few minutes of sharing awkward glances between Bella and himself.

"It was ok."

"No different than normal."

The siblings gave their answers quietly and returned to staring at their plate's.

Several minutes later Zero looked up from his plate and asked Charlie. "How was your day, dad?"

"It was great." Charlie smiled faintly as he thought of the big change in his son.

After the short interaction between the two, dinner continued without any further conversation.

Once the family had finished eating and cleaning up they said their good night's and went to their respective rooms and prepared to go to bed.

While Zero decided to talk to the system.

Later in the night Zero opened his eyes, revealing that he hadn't been in slumber the whole time.

Zero looked to the side towards the digital clock and it read 01:53am.

Zero chuckled in a low voice as he began speaking. "You know it's considered perverted and creepy to enter someone's room while they sleep and watch them? In this case it wouldn't only be perverted and creepy, you would have to ask yourself 'do I have pedophilia' while at it." Zero tsked as he continued educating 'someone' about how perverted and wrong it was to watch someone as they sleep.

In Bella's bedroom, Edward stood in a corner with an absolutely constipated look on his pale face. The lecture went on for five minutes before he heard the last sentence.

"I hope you learned something because I need sleep."

Edward stiffly turned his head to the window as he contemplated over Zero's words, and how he knew he was there.

Suddenly there was a rustle of movement from Bella as she woke up.

Edward froze for a moment as Bella saw him and moved to switch on the lamp, he took the opportunity to dash out of the window while she always turned away. Bella turned to the spot he had been but found no one, feeling confused she went back to sleep.

Edward ran all the way home and arrived two minutes later. He entered through the from door and came face to face with his family who were doing their own things.

"What happened to you?" Rosalie looked at Edward as she spoke, wandering why he looked like he'd just experienced something. Jasper nodded along as he felt the awkward and embarrassed emotions radiating from him.

Edward read both their thoughts and his expression became more twisted and unnatural.

"Nothing to worry about." He squeezed the words out with a bit of affort and moved to go to his room.

"Ok." Esme and Carlisle looked at each other, both having their own thoughts on what had happened.

"Come on people, green means what? Green is good. Now go."

The teacher spoke while leading the students into two buses.

Zero calmly got into the emptier bus and sat way at the back, got comfortable and began playing his game.

"What are you doing here?" A sneering voice entered Zero's ears as he paused his game and looked up. Rosalie Cullen stood in all her full glory with a sneer on her face, the rest of the Cullen's standing behind her.

"Sitting." He spoke simply without a change of expression.

"You..." Rosalie glared slightly and moved to the front to take a seat.

Zero switched on his phone, wanting to continue with his game but was interrupted by the one and only pixie demon.

"Zero, how are you, how did you sleep and what are you up to?" She sat beside him while talking.

"Fine, great, talking to you?" Zero looked at Alice, unknowingly happy he had the chance to spend time with her

"That's great." Alice sidled up to him slightly.

"You?" Zero spoke subconsciously as he played his game.

"Hahaha, I'm great, would you like to go out together, please?" Alice felt giddy, he had asked her a question on his own, so she decided to try to get him to go somewhere with her.

Zero looked at Alice, who had on puppy dog eyes and a pleading look.

"Ok." Zero answered without any hesitation. He stiffened slightly as he looked at Alice weirdly, feeling like he wasn't the one that spoke.

As the buses arrived, Zero decided to think of everything another time, and got of the bus.
