6 - Emerald

(TW: fighting) 

<Taehyung POV>

Taehyung already had enough. Not only did he let the enemy in the cave by disobeying, now he also has to deal with his terrible attitude. He was so angry at himself, and the boy's mind games were really not helping the situation. If he calls me 'Beta' one more time, I will- No... I need to stay calm... 

"I will if you don't surrender now. This is your last chance" he replies while getting ready to fight, positioning his body as taught. The enemy seemed to have noticed and smirks. Ugh, I will erase that smile off his face! 

"Surrender? Wouldn't that be too easy? No... I don't surrender. I don't lose either. If anything, you should be the one surrendering, Beta."

That was was it. With a threatening scream, Taehyung runs at the vampire standing in front of him and throws a punch at him. Taken by surprise, he avoids it at the last second by jumping backwards, bumping into a pile of crystals. He's trapped! Taehyung takes this opportunity to swing another fists towards his stomach, but this time the enemy is ready; he blocks it before Tae's hand can hit him. Taehyung quickly pulls back and tries to punch his face, but he blocks again. How is he so fast?? 

"You look distressed" he says with a proud smile, grabbing Taehyung's wrist tightly. Before he can even pull away, the boy pulls him strongly and knees him in the stomach, cutting his breath and watching him stumble back. 

Shit... Taehyung holds his abdomen in pain while catching his breath, holding on to the wall to not fall. Before he can even look up, the enemy is already running at him, and in a split second, he hits him in the face, sending him to the ground. Taehyung grunts in pain as he lands face first on the floor of the cave. 

"Are we already done? Didn't think you were all talk."

With an angry squawk, Taehyung gets up and turns around to face the annoying boy and throws multiple punches at him. He struggles and steps back, trying to block as many as he can, stepping back more and more as Taehyung's punches come faster until one smacks him in the jaw. He groans in pain and glares at Taehyung, angry and surprised. Tae smirks. 

"Does that answer your question? I told you it was your last chance to surrender."

"I won't!" he yells back, trying to kick him in the gut, but Taehyung was faster. At the last second, he jumps to the side and gets behind the boy, taking advantage of his imbalance to push him to the ground, pinning him down before he can even get up. He tries to squirm under Taehyung's weight, hissing at him, but Tae pins down his hands with his knees and puts all his weight on his shoulders so he can't move. 

"Give up and surrender, you're my prisoner now!" he laughs at the vampire struggling. 

"Never!" he yelps, getting angrier by the second, trying to push Taehyung off unsuccessfully. 

As the anger gradually takes over him, Taehyung notices the colour of his eyes changing... Slowly, his pupils change from a dark brown to a bright green tint, a shade that was all too familiar to Taehyung; a colour he's been seeing every day in his dreams. He freezes for a second, forgetting about the fight, and stares into his eyes stupefied. Noticing that Taehyung's aggressivity faded, the boy slowly stops squirming and stares back, confused. They were like two bright emeralds, deeper than malachite and yet brighter than any aura borealis he's ever seen. He was hypnotized... 

"Y-You're the person of my dreams..." he mumbles mindlessly, slowly recognizing him. "Even your smell... It's you..."

There is a long pause, neither of them speak, just silence. They stay like this for what feels like forever, until the boy finally snaps out of it and takes advantage of the distraction to lift up his hips, making Taehyung fall over. Taken by surprise, he lands on his side and shakes his head to snap out of it, still stupefied. The enemy quickly gets on his feet and stares at Taehyung who slowly gets up, a hint of hesitation in his eyes, but after a few seconds his hesitant look turns into an intense glare. 

"Sorry, but I'm not into that. I don't know who you are. You are no one to me." he says sternly, almost trying to convince himself. Taehyung looks up at him quietly. 

"You do know me, don't lie... What's your name?" he asks anxiously, still trying to figure him out.

"Stop trying to befriend me! I am your enemy!" he yells.

Taehyung steps back, taken aback by his tone. Right... My enemy... Don't get distracted. 

"...I know" he says in a low voice before clenching his fist and pouncing behind the boy at a suddenly incredible speed, hitting the back of his head and knocking him out in one punch. The boy falls to the ground unconscious and Taehyung stares at him with flashing purple eyes, some sparks of electricity coming out of his closed fists. He rarely used his power in trainings because it made it too easy for him to win. This fight was an exception; he needed answers. Now that he won, it was time to bring his prisoner back to his clan.

<Jungkook POV>

Ugh... My head... Jungkook slowly regains consciousness, trying to sit up, holding his head to fight against a strong headache. He looks around, grunting softly in pain, and realizes he is sitting in a cell, in what appears to be a sort of dungeon. He was surrounded by stone walls, except for the entrance which was made of metal bars surrounding a door with the same structure. Feeling a bit cold, he notices half of his clothes are gone, now wearing only a white shirt with his black pants. His coat and accessories were gone, so were his weapons. He was probably searched and stripped while unconscious and locked up somewhere. Great... With a sigh, the elf leans against the wall in disappointment and stares at the ceiling. What would his father say since he failed? It was his only chance and he screwed up... It was all this Beta's fault. Oh, the pleasure he will feel when beating him up to get his revenge! The next time he shows up, he's done for. 

"Here's your food..." says a familiar voice from the entrance of the cell. It was him. Jungkook doesn't even bother to look. He hears the plate slide on the ground but he ignores it, clenching fists in anger. 

"You need to eat, now that you're awake" Taehyung says calmly. He had a neutral tone, surprisingly, which annoyed Jungkook even more. How could he be so nice, giving him food personally after kidnapping him? Why does he even care? 

"You disgust me." he says without looking away from the ceiling. 

"I know... I just- I needed to see you... We need to talk."

Jungkook looks down at him. He knows exactly what this was about.
