<Jungkook POV>
Jungkook and Taehyung were gracefully dancing to the music, melting in the moment. All they could hear was the orchestra and each other's heartbeats. After a moment, Taehyung looks up at Jungkook and pulls on his bow tie to undo it.
"Why did you do that...?" asks the elf shyly confused by the sudden act.
"It doesn't really suit you..." replies Tae while opening up Jungkook's shirt. He then looks up into his soulmates eyes and pauses, taking a deep breath. It felt like he was about to ask something important.
"What is it...?" Jungkook encourages him, gently tucking his hair behind his ear.
"I've been thinking..." starts Taehyung with a slightly shaky voice. "What if... we stay together for eternity?"
Jungkook stares at him speechless for a moment.
"Well... It's the case already, what do you mean by that?" he asks hesitantly. He already guessed what Tae meant but he just needed a clarification.
"I mean... Let's get married..." Taehyung announces with a soft voice, looking deep into Jungkook's eyes with kindness and love.
The elf doesn't reply, still processing the question. Me? Married? So many questions came rushing in his head. What if it's forbidden? What if it doesn't work out? What if I make another mistake again? I could hurt him more, I would hate myself... What if I am too dangerous? What if I become like Aesoo and get consumed by power? Too many anxious thoughts fogged Jungkook's brain and he stops dancing, looking down at the floor still quite processing the demand.
"B-But what if I am not good enough?" he finally says, attempting to erase the worry on Taehyung's face.
"Good enough?" repeats Tae in surprise. He cups his cheeks and lifts his face up so their eyes meet. "Jungkook... You are so much more than enough, you are everything I need! I've never felt the thrill or happiness I feel when I am with you... I want to live more adventures together, stay by your side, I want to be with you for eternity, I don't care what others think, we were literally made for each other! Good enough? You are my entire universe... I love you so much, Koo..."
Jungkook was absorbing every words, getting emotional at how much Taehyung loved him... If only he knew how much he meant to me too, I don't deserve him...
"I love you too..." he finally replies. "I want to protect you more than anyone, I want you to be mine forever Tae... I want to remind you everyday of how much you mean to me, how happy you make me feel, how useless I feel without you... You're everything and so much more to me... But I am scared to hurt you again or lose you..."
"You won't. I promise... You could never, Jungkook. I chose you. No matter what options I have in my life, you're the one I choose with no hesitation." Taehyung concludes with determination.
Jungkook smiles fondly and pulls Taehyung closer, lifting his chin and leaning in to press his lips against his, kissing him softly. Every second, it felt like they fell more and more in love with each other. Jungkook never wants that feeling to stop...
"Yes..." he finally answers after pulling away. "Let's get married. I would love that."
Both smile at each other and Taehyung jumps at his neck in excitement to pull Jungkook into another passionate kiss. Jungkook slowly dips Taehyung to deepen the kiss, holding his waist carefully and looks fondly into his eyes after they pull away. Taehyung suddenly gets up and jumps in excitement.
"I have to tell Seokjin and Namjoon, be right back!" he shouts while running away into the crowd to find his friends.
Despite the surprise at the suddenness of the excitement, Jungkook loved seeing him this happy. He watches Taehyung walks away with loving eyes. Maybe he should tell his father too...
[a year later]
The vows have been spoken, it was now time to finalize the wedding. Taehyung could barely contain his excitement, while Jungkook just couldn't get his eyes off his fiancé and soon to be husband. It felt so unreal to be officially united to the man he loved and would never stop loving. Both were just waiting for the final words that would conclude their marriage for good. The moonlight and weather that night were particularly pleasant, lighting up the crowd and grooms with an ethereal light, and the candles were adding to the warm atmosphere. The roses, symbols of love and passion, surrounding them were also arranged with perfection. Everything was going so well and nothing could ruin this incredible night.
"If anyone objects to this marriage, may you stand now or never speak again."
Silence. As expected, no one stood against them and their love. Not even Suni was against it, despite the fact that they were supposedly enemies. In fact, she was quite supportive of it and even helped Taehyung write his vows.
"I now declare you married! You may kiss."
Finally the so awaited words were spoken. Taehyung wraps his arms around Jungkook's shoulders and with bright smiles they kiss as the crowd applauses and cheers loudly. This moment felt extraordinary...
"I hope you stay with each other until the end of times..." said Jungkook's father on the verge of tears.
"Congratulations, kids, you really are a match made in heaven... Make us proud." added Suni.
"You both look so handsome, I am so happy for you two... Congratulations!" states Namjoon while hugging Taehyung.
"I'm so so proud of you both, look how far you've come... You deserve all the happiness in the world!" comments Seokjin. He then whispers towards Jungkook; "Remember, if you hurt him you're a dead man!"
Jungkook nods quickly, slightly intimidated by Tae's friend. He might need some time to get used to this new way of life, where everything between Tae and him would be shared. He was happy to be able to make friends now, since he never really had any. He was happy to be able to cherish his new family now. In thoughts, he takes Taehyung's hand.
"What's wrong...?" Tae asks a little concerned by the sudden gesture.
"Nothing. I just felt like holding my husband's hand that's all..." he replies with a smile. Taehyung squeezes his hand.
"I like that..." he says softly with a fond smile. "My husband..." he repeats dreamily while pulling Jungkook into a tight hug.
Yes... This felt so right, so nice, so perfect... I swear on the new moon I will never forget this day... I swear I will always be grateful for this life... After the storm always comes the light of the countless stars. Taehyung was the brightest star in Jungkook's universe. The one that cleared away the storm for good.
