<Taehyung POV>
"I needed to see you..."
It took so much courage for Taehyung to say those words to the vampire in front of him. It took almost as much courage as asking Suni permission to go see him. Her reaction to Taehyung's surprise gift was unexpected; she didn't seem to care. In fact, she seemed tired, and it seems that despite the fact that Kims managed to push away the Jeon armies, there were still a lot of losses and damage done to the territory and the people. She almost seemed defeated, even if she won the battle. It was understandable... The fight was unpredictable and unnecessary. A prisoner was probably the least of her problems at that point.
"If you want to go see him, make him talk. I don't care how, just get the truth out of him" she said when Taehyung asked about seeing him before slamming her door at his face.
Now, here he was, looking at the enemy he just captured on his own, trying to keep a serious face. He was not used to having this 'bad guy' role, he never questioned anyone before, and he felt so uncomfortable being alone with this boy. The cell felt hot, he was sweating and he wasn't sure if it was because of the temperature in the cell or in his body.
"I won't tell you anything" the boy says. Taehyung knew he would be stubborn.
"At least eat. That's all I want for now, I will leave you alone then..."
"No. You're wasting your time."
Dang... He's really acting like an ass. Taehyung frowns and keeps insisting.
"I wasn't asking for your opinion, loser, just eat or I will make sure no one feeds you until you talk."
"Fine!"
Taehyung bends down to grab the plate from the floor and starts to walk away, but as he does, he hears a faint grumble. He glances at the boy and notices he is covering his stomach; he was starving. Liar...
"You're hungry, aren't you."
"Mind your business." he replies dryly.
Taehyung turns to him and raises his voice, dropping the plate in the floor frustrated;
"Quit lying, I'm not stupid! I need to know who you are! I need to know why you've been in my dreams!" he snaps. The boy looks up at him a bit surprised by his anger. Good, be scared, as you should. Taehyung rarely loses his temper but there was something about him which made it impossible for him to control his emotions as he usually does. Something... different.
"...Jungkook" he mumbles after a moment of silence, turning his head away from Taehyung.
"What?"
"That's my name, you asked for it. Weren't you listening at the ceremony?"
It was kind of hard to listen when I was on the verge of fainting... Anyways, it is better to ignore his attempts at provoking him and focus on the information.
"Well, 'Jungkook', you can say goodbye to your food." he declares to his prisoner before walking away with a smug smile, mocking Jungkook's earlier smirk. He notices and scoffs.
"Do you have a comment?" Tae asks with a glare.
"Yeah. This colour really doesn't suit you." he says returning that same pride while glancing at him up and down.
Ugh, he had a talent to get on Taehyung's nerves and it was pissing him off. It was getting harder to stay calm.
"You don't have to be such a cunt!"
"And you don't have to be so disgustingly nice."
"I'm just making sure you don't starve to death, you idiot!"
"I don't need your help! Who do you think you are, hm? Wake up. You are no one. Stop trying so hard to be strong, you know you aren't."
"Because you tried and it didn't work? Is that why you push everyone away?"
"...You don't know me."
"And you know me, perhaps?" Taehyung asks sarcastically, knowing exactly what he was doing to make the prisoner talk.
"Yes I do!" he replies angrily, quickly realizing his mistake. Perfect. Taehyung slowly smirks and approaches the cell door, stepping out of the darkness. He could see Jungkook better now, and took a good look at him. Despite his imposing body, his face had some sweetness and softness to it. He almost looked cute...
"Tell me then. Who am I?"
Jungkook was trapped. Taehyung set him up perfectly for the question and he got carried away. He sighs and takes his time to talk.
"You're... a weirdo."
"I'm serious."
"You already know, stop acting like you're in denial."
"But I want you to say it!"
Taehyung waits. Jungkook slowly gets up and also steps into the light, the only source being the moon shining outside the small opening that was closed with metal bars in the back of the cell, too high for anyone to reach. As he walks closer to Taehyung, he notices how tall the prisoner actually is. His presence is almost suffocating. For a moment, Taehyung stares at him, looking him up and down, analysing the details of his somewhat appealing face and his alluring muscles. He quickly catches himself and puts on a serious face, looking into his eyes. He pauses before talking for a moment that feels like forever to Tae, who is impatient to hear the answer.
"Unfortunately... we're soulmates." he finally admits.
Taehyung felt both relieved to finally have the true answer and anxious about this situation... maybe even a little excited.
"What does this mean...?" he asks hesitantly, trying not to look away from his eyes to stay dominant.
"It means we're stuck. It means we depend on each other. It sucks." he retorts nonchalantly.
He was standing so close, the only thing between them was the metal bars locking him up, and yet Taehyung felt his overwhelming presence get stronger. His smell coming from just a few meters away was starting to get to Taehyung's head. There's no way I'm fainting in front of him again! Quickly he covers his mouth and nose and takes a step back. Jungkook's stare didn't change and he looked so intense. Maybe it was his Alpha aura, nothing more...
"W-Well it doesn't have to be so bad right? It could w-work?" Tae asks shyly with a quiet voice. As soon as this sentence came out, Taehyung couldn't believe himself. Are you seriously trying to get close to an enemy? Stop it! Get it together! What is happening? Why do I feel so hot and dizzy again? This can't be happening, this can't-
"Why, don't tell me you like me or something..." Jungkook scoffs. Taehyung doesn't reply. That can't be it. There was no way he could feel attracted to the enemy and yet he couldn't help but blush. Jungkook's face changes from annoyed, to surprised, to amused.
"No way..." he laughs, grabbing the bars suddenly. "No way! You're so pathetic, I swear, what is wrong with you? You're supposed to kill me! Why are you keeping me alive and catching feelings, hm? Why?!"
Taehyung takes another step back in surprise, hitting the wall. Even he was in disbelief. I must fight it... I must fight it!
"I- I don't like you in any way!" he replies, lying to himself as much as to his prisoner.
"Then why is your heat starting again? Why are you blushing? You don't know anything about me! You can't fall for me!"
What was the point in fighting it? He knew it was in his nature. As Jungkook said, they are stuck. He can't fight his body or the feelings slowly arising. Screw it.
"So what?" he yells, grabbing the bars too, leaning a bit too close to Jungkook's face. "I will learn! I want to know you! I can't help it, Jungkook!"
As soon as he heard Tae pronounce his name, looking at him with such determination, Jungkook froze. It's like his whole world stopped. What he was trying to avoid has happened... What to do now?
