[TW: fighting]

Jungkook was standing right there just a few meters from Taehyung. Tae was so focused on him and could not care less about the chaos around them. The only thing that mattered was stopping Jungkook and his clan. I can't believe you used me... Taehyung felt so much anger boiling deep down he couldn't think about anything other than hurting Jungkook back. It wasn't fair. I trusted you, let you get close to me, I was stupid. Now he must suffers the consequences of his actions.

Jungkook was looking around desperately, searching for his father in the battlefield. Despite the situation, he still loved him and he was his last family. Finally, he spots him fighting against a Park vampire in the crowd. As he was about to go help him fight her off, he suddenly feels a weight land on him and hit him to the ground.

"Oof-"

Jungkook turns around quickly, ready to defend himself, but he freezes when he recognize the boy who took him by surprise and pounced on him as soon as he looked away.

"Taehyung..." he says softly with a surprised look. Tae did not reply. He still had that intense glare from earlier. Jungkook steps back carefully. "I- I don't want to fight you..." he explains hesitantly.

"Oh...?" Tae replies on a mocking tone. "Am I not worth fighting? Hm?" he asks while walking towards Jungkook, forcing him to step back more.

"No t-that's not it... I can explain...!"

"No need, I get it. You just wanted to have your fun and use me before letting your clan kill mine. You knew it all along didn't you. You just wanted to experiment with me before killing me!"

As Taehyung's tone intensifies and his voice grows louder, tears start forming at the corners of his eyes. Jungkook could see in how much pain he was and it was hurting him. He backs away more, searching for the words to prove Taehyung wrong, and as he does he notices the sky is getting cloudier by the second. Taehyung's eyes are starting to glow a bright purple while tears of anger run down his cheeks and sparks form at his fists. Jungkook felt terrible; he hurt him to the point of possibly no return. This is my fault... Thunder resounds in the sky and Jungkook quickly understands that Tae was about to use his power. There's no other way out of this one; I have to fight him.

Taehyung raises his fists and a streak of lightning flows in his whole body with a pale purple electricity, making Jungkook jump in surprise. He must suffer. Taehyung runs at Jungkook and gets behind him before the elf could even process and hits him in the back with a powerful punch. Jungkook nearly falls to the ground but manages to catch himself and turns around to return the punch but Taehyung was already gone. Again, the vampire punches him from behind, in the waist this time. Every time Jungkook tries to face him, Taehyung is already gone and hitting him somewhere else; he could only endure the punches, unable to catch up with his incredible speed. Tae kept going, using the lightning to enhance his physical abilities, not giving a second to Jungkook. Ouch... I need to get it together... Attempting to predict his movements and find a pattern, Jungkook tries to hit him back, also increasing his own speed but not quite able to match the Beta's, as he observes his every moves. Finally, he sees an opening and steps away from Tae creating a circle of fire around him so he can catch his breath. Taehyung steps back, blinded by the flames. Perfect... Jungkook takes the opportunity to fly above the flames and throw a fire ball at Taehyung. He aims a little off on purpose and thankfully the Beta avoided the attack.

"Come down here, I'm not done with you!" he yells angrily at the elf.

"Only if you're willing to listen to me!"

"No! I hate you and your entire clan!"

It was worth a shot... Impatient, Taehyung raises his palm to the sky and directs a bolt of lightning right at Jungkook. Taken aback, the elf barely manages to avoid it and gets closer to the ground. Taehyung tries the same attack multiple times, amused at the Alpha's struggle, and eventually forces him on land. He jumps at him, but this time Jungkook was faster and kicked him in the gut. Taehyung stumbles back, his breath cut off for a moment. He looks up at Jungkook angrily.

"Tae, I promise I don't want to hurt you..."

"It's a bit too late for that." he retorts, strained but still upset.

"I know... I know what it looks like, I know you probably won't forgive me, I know I fucked up... But trust me I didn't want any of this to happen..." Jungkook explains, gesturing vaguely at the battle around them. Taehyung doesn't look away from him, his expression unchanged.

"If you didn't want any of this to happen, then why did you let it?!"

Taehyung's sudden change in tone left Jungkook speechless. He couldn't understand why he did all this. He couldn't understand why his father was so important to him, why he had to obey, how scared he was to fail and disappoint his leader, how guilty he felt to be a disgrace to elves, how much he loved Taehyung and wanted to protect him, how much he missed his mom... Taehyung could never understand.

"You wouldn't understand..." he says softly with a shaky voice, looking down.

"I'm not trying to. I won't fall for your tricks again, Jeon Jungkook. I am here to stop you, nothing else!"

Jungkook's heart broke a little when he heard those words coming from his soulmate, the only person he's ever allowed himself to love other than his parents, the only person he showed his true self to... But was he to blame? He let Taehyung down. By trying to fit in everyone's expectations, to fulfil all his missions, he forgot about the most important one; to make Taehyung happy. I am such an idiot... I really am the bad guy in this story...

Taehyung didn't notice that Jungkook had started to tear up and already got up to punch him, but to his surprise, Jungkook managed to block his fist. He looks up into his eyes. His look also changed into a numb and dark stare. If I am the bad guy, might as well stick to the role. He wants to hurt me and I deserve it.

"Fine, then." he says in a monotone voice, his eyes slowly glowing green. "Stop me."
