Y/n took a small bow when the guard introduced her to the princess. The princess, delighted to see a familiar face, had her join them by sitting down next to her. Y/n declined at first as she didn't feel it was in her place to join them, but the princess insisted as a royal favour. She hesitated but agreed, not to sit next to her at the table but to stand behind her as she felt like it would be a dishonour to sit with them even if the princess herself insisted on it.

"Something about you reminds me of a scoundrel I once saw fleeing my wife's chambers!" the nobleman came charging at the bard as Jaskier was too late to flee from the sight of the man. The bard got pushed back and cornered as he stumbles and finds himself at a loss for words.

"Uh— I...—" The bard stumbles back to a separator of the palace floors.

"Drop your trousers," The nobleman was firm with his words as he pointed to the bard's pants signaling him to take them off.

"What—?" Jaskier looked down at his trousers confused and then looked back up at the very angry nobleman in his face.

"I didn't get a proper look at the little shit's face, but that pimply arse I'd remember anywhere," the nobleman growled out as he appeared to be veins popping out the side of his temple clearly showing signs he was furious.

"Well—.. I—.. uh— uhh... Ah, Geralt!" The bard looked helpless trying to think of a response or even better yet a way out of this situation that he in fact put himself in. Jaskier looked at Geralt who had approached the scene with a desperate look for help.

As Geralt approached the bard and the trouble that he got himself into that now the Witcher had to help him out of, Geralt could think of nothing better than embarrassing the bard.

"Forgive me my lord. This... Happens all the time..." Geralt began to say as the bard started to nod along to what the Witcher was going to say to help him create a reason and a solution out of the situation.

"It's true, he has the face of a cad and a coward," Geralt says staring into the nobleman's eyes trying to act all sincere and comforting while the nobleman nods at the insult that the white-haired man has just spouted. This caused Jaskier to look at Geralt with confusion as well as betrayal and an insulted look on his face.

"But truth be told.. he was kicked in the balls by an ox as a child." Geralt finishes off looking at the bard with a satisfied look that he at least would get to say this and the bard couldn't oppose it if he wanted to live.

"Wha— that's.." Jaskier began to say as he slightly shook his head looking at Geralt. Then he remembered that the nobleman was there and when he made eye contact with him again he retracted his opposing feeling and went with what Geralt said. "That is... tr-true.." Jaskier says with no other choice.

With the new fact revealed that the bard had suffered a great injury as a child, the nobleman quickly switched up and conveyed pity and empathy for the bard. He started to apologize and gave the bard a coin to spend to drown out his... sorrows. The nobleman then scurries off glancing at the bard's lower regions with a concerned look one last time. This made Geralt give a satisfied smirk, seeing he did his job to 'protect' the bard and still get his own entertainment out of it.

"Wow thank you. Thank you so much." The bard says sarcastically as he sees that he was in the clear from the nobleman.

"First of all, you hog all the fanfare, then you go and ruin my courtly reputation?" The bard spouts frustrated at the Witcher he had hired as his own bodyguard.
