"She hasn't come out since morning." Tana whispered to her husband while she worriedly glanced at the door of their guest bedroom Lola had occupied the last few days.

"She'll come around." Tunji said placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"It's been three days babe!" Her concern was evident.

"Why are you whispering?" He asked her. Lola may have been on the same floor as them but the distance away from the room was evident. There was no way she'd hear them if they weren't yelling.

"Right." She palmed her head slightly as she spoke in a normal tone.

Her best friend had become a shadow of herself within the last few days. She was worried, very worried.

"I can't believe that David would do that to her. I can't believe they're over! Just like that?" Tana could not get over the shock.

When Lola called her, practically weeping and wailing over the phone, she had her husband rush to her place and bring her down to their home.

When Lola managed to get herself together and told her everything, so many emotions rushed through her all at once.

This was Lola's first actual heartbreak and they were usually the toughest to bounce back from.

"Baby, shit happens all the time." Tunji said and casually laid back on the couch, propping his feet up on a stool in front of him.

"Yes but don't sound like that." Tana scowled even as she put a fussing Noelle to her breast.

"Like what?"

"Like it's none our business."

"Isn't it?" He asked with a befuddled frown and she glared daggers at him.

"Of course it is! Lola is family!" She exclaimed, wide eyed and almost teary.

"Tana!"

A third voice came through even as the sound of haste induced heels clicked the floor in quick succession.

"Hi Tolani."

"I came as soon as I heard. Tell me it's not true." Laila said, panting like she just ran a marathon which from the looks of things was just from the parking lot to the house.

"Sadly, it is." Tana sighed again.

"No!" Laila gasped with her hands clasped over her mouth even as her handbag dropped to floor.

"Where is she? How is she holding up?"

"In the guestroom. She hasn't stepped out since morning if that's what you're asking." Tana muttered with a tired sigh.

Tunji cleared his throat at this point.

"Hi Laila." He said with a wave.

"Oh hi Tunji, I'm so sorry, I didn't notice you there." She said with an apologetic smile.

"It's alright. How are you?"

"Well, I was good until I heard what happened." Her shoulders slumped. She was visibly stressed out and now news of her sister's heartbreak had to hit her at such a time.

"She'll be fine. You all should stop worrying so much." He had said with a blitheful shrug like he was just talking about the weather.

Both women turned to him unable to hide their irritation at what he had just said.

"You have no idea how heart wrenching a break up is for a woman, do you?" Tana's glare could burn holes through her husband's face and the poor man swallowed in nervousness.
