An incredibly excitable scream shocked Red out of his daydream as he perked up from his place beside Swap on the couch. Looking over to the table he saw Blue and Cherry playing Beer pong. But Swaps had insisted it be played with soda. 'soda pong!' cherry had cheered as Blue very eagerly agreed. One of the first thinks Red had learnt about Blue that night two years ago is even on a lightweight alcoholic Mayonnaise Blue was really easy to get drunk.
He did have an excuse. Red thought to himself. Looking over to Blue and looking over his best friend. He did make a mental note that, yeah there wasn't a lot of mass to the smallest skeleton of the bunch. As the Cyan cop liked to keep in shape. Didn't bother Red none. He hummed in thought. Relaxing back into the couch. He had plenty enough pudge for the both of them anyways. Not like his fluff upset anyone in their household. Besides, it meant he could drink any one of these dorks under the table if he so pleased!
Swap however, had absolutely no excuse. Red sighed as he looked over to his drink mate. The other chuckling his quiet little 'nyeh-heh's as he watched Cherry and Blue play their game. He was absolutely fucking wasted. And he was a fucking tall man with a beer belly! Red had assumed the idiot could surely handle an alcoholic HONEY of all skeleton alcohols. But apparently not seeing Swap was only on his fourth drink. Red honestly couldn't be any more shocked at this. He swirled the Vodka/Mustard mix in his hand, inspecting the liquid. He wasn't one to normally drink a lot of mustard anymore given the mental connections he had made to it. But tonight, was an occasion. His sister having mixed the beverage just the way he had liked it. But for once didn't pour any for herself either. Red was beginning to raise an eyebrow at his siters newfound behaviour. Normally she never passed up the opportunity to drink, even if it were just a human cruiser.
Red sighed as he looked down to the drink, he had been taking it slow all day to keep a steady buzz in his system. It WAS new years eve, but news had spread in hushed whispers through their household that night that Edge and Dust were released on bail just yesterday. Red knew they weren't out here, but he wasn't ready to take any chances since they would only be more upset at him now. He had been the reason they were in prison. Not to mention he was living with the cop that had tracked them down.
Red was thrown out of his depressing train of thought however as Honey, the lanky idiot he was. Was draped over the entire length of the house fiddling with their general stereo. The music blasted directly into his skull but his wasted ass didn't appear to care, instead tilting his head back to essentially scream his own made-up lyrics along to the same tune that was now playing. A lot of paternal based lyrics in there. Well, the both of them really did get weirder and weirder, didn't they? Red went to look to Blue to try and get answers. The tipsy cop shrugging. But the moment Red drew his attention to cherry it all made sense.
His sister's face was flushed red hot, Red finally felt his mind connect the dots. Leaping to his feet as blue stumbled over immediately after. Red hugging as blue was the first to open his mouth and cheer "Congratulations! I'm really happy to hear you are both taking such a large leap in your relationship!" he chirped. Cherry laughed as she nodded bashfully to Blue and cuddled up into her brother. Red holding his sister for a few moments more before letting go. The staggering lean skeleton pushing past Red as soon as the two were apart to scoop his lover up and parade around excitedly, spinning and cuddling. Cherry laughing along as she was partied around by the drunken skeleton. Red shook his head. Allowing a smile to cross his features temporarily before his mind clouded again. His smile fading as he looked to the Entrance to the balcony. Taking a deep breath before heading towards the door. Pushing it open and stepping out.
Red padded out along the wooden decking of the Balcony, slumping over the railing as he looked down to the garden beneath them. Once overing the railed off staircase before allowing himself to relax peacefully. he allowed himself to get sucked into the sounds of the trees and far distant partying of the town and spaced away neighbours. Wailing parties of their families that would have come down to stay for the holidays. Red pulled his head up to focus towards the stars of the sky, they had always been far prettier out here after all. Allowing his breathing to slow, he watched as a bold orange light cut through the sky, slowing when it flew high enough before bursting into its explosion of golden colour. A second following it. Red watching the second combust into an iridescent blue.
