"This is stupid." Dabi said he was lying out in the grass in the garden next to Tomura. "No kidding." Tomura agreed. "I mean who throws another ball a few weeks after the last one?" Dabi asked he already hated them and now he was having to do another one soon after the last disaster of a night of the previous ball.
"Probably to try to make people forget about my fight with Muscular." Tomura said he wasn't happy to be attending it either. "Couldn't he just like forcefully silence people?" Dabi asked curiously. "Yeah, but that's a lot more work than having someone plan a ball for you." Tomura pointed out.
"I suppose your right. So distract people with a big party got it." Dabi said he got up and stretched. "We should go get ready so Kurogiri doesn't yell at us about our clothes." Dabi said he looked down at his outfit. It was rumpled since they had both raced the horses down by the stables.
"Yeah, I do still smell like Void." Tomura said chuckling they both made their way inside the palace. Dabi wore a white undershirt and a waist coat made from the fabric Tomura had gotten him to replace the one that had ripped. Dabi hoped it didn't rip this time he quite liked it.
Dabi walked down the stairs to stand in the foyer. Evidently, he and Tomura we're tasked to lead guests into the house. Dabi had been confused by the decision since at the last ball he'd been told to keep to himself. According to Tomura All For One wanted to let people know Tomura wasn't a murderous beast like rumors painted him to be.
Dabi had almost set himself on fire at that but he managed to keep it down. He had more important things of deal with at the moment then All For One treating Tomura like an object he could use than a person. Dabi reluctantly invited the first few guests in. He wasn't as cheery or welcoming as Kurogiri encouraged him to be. Dabi didn't give a crap.
Tomura came down shortly after saving him some boredom and social interactions. They both took to making mean barbs at the guests when they walked away to entertain themselves. They might be mean but Dabi would never deny that if someone told him. He knew he was.
After all the guests arrived Tomura once again was to stand by All For One as he made a speech about how he was glad everyone was there and thanked them for coming. Or something like that Dabi didn't pay attention the whole time. Tomura slinkef away as soon as he was sure All For One wouldn't notice.
"Hey." Tomura said he stood beside Dabi. "So, I see you finally got away from All For One?" Dabi asked amused. "Yeah, finally his speech was so boring I had to hear all of it." Tomura said he hated listening to All For One regularly let alone for several minutes.
"Oh well let's take your mind of all of this okay?" Dabi said he grabbed Tomura's hand. "Hey what are you-" Tomura began he was interrupted by Dabi yanking him onto the dance floor with the crowd of people. "I hate you." Tomura grumbled he had to grab onto Dabi to keep himself from falling over as some bumped into him.
"You're gonna have to get moving unless you want to be pushed around." Dabi said he chuckled at Tomura's glare. Someone stopped on Tomura's foot he winced. "My point exactly." Dabi said he started the steps for a dance. Tomura complied not having anything better to do and he didn't like being stepped on.
They danced for quite a while Tomura was tired by the time they were done. "Wanna sit down for a few?" Dabi asked collapsing into a chair. "I don't have a choose since you choose for us but sure." Tomura said he plopped down in the chair next to Dabi. Dabi's hand was resting on the arm of his chair Tomura took it into his own.
Dabi shot Tomura a glance but then looked away. They both watched the dances continuing their game from earlier. Tomura without noticing rubbed invisible patterns on Dabi's hand with his thumb. "That guy totally is wearing something in his boots to make him look taller." Dabi said pointing to a man.
Tomura chuckled he scanned crowd for the person he was going to make a comment about. "That guy right there see him?" Tomura asked pointing to someone in the crowd. "Yes?" Dabi asked. "Totally is wearing that hat to cover up his baldness." Tomura said they both burst out laughing.
"What are you two doing?" Kurogiri asked he glared down at the two men. "Having fun that your interrupting." Tomura said crossing his arms over his chest sending a glare back at the man. Kurogiri sighed like a tired parent he kinda was like Tomura's dad in Dabi's opinion.
"Well find something better to do then make fun of random people." Kurogiri scolded them then he walked away. Tomura stuck his tongue out at Kurogiri's retreating figure. "Your so mature." Dabi said amused. "Yes, I know." Tomura said sarcastically. "Anyways let's go outside so misty doesn't come back over here and give us another lecture." Tomura said he stood up.
"Yeah, good idea." Dabi said he followed Tomura out of the ballroom. They might get in trouble again but Dabi found he didn't really care. Tomura lead him back out to the garden. They had been hanging out there more and more often since the last ball. Dabi found it relaxing no one else was around except then and occasionally Kurogiri who took care of the flowers.
They both laid down on the grass. Dabi looked at the stars he couldn't make out any constellations unlike Tomura who could name most of them. Dabi sighed he didn't want to be anywhere else at the moment. He could stay out in the garden with just Tomura forever. To bad that's not how the world works he thought grumpily as he closed his eyes.
